Femmy | 166 comments I'm currently reading The Emperor's Blades, which features three siblings as the main characters. I really l ike this side of the story. I'm touched by the fact that they're all concerned about one another.

I'd like recommendations for other fantasy books that have siblings as main characters. The ones I know/read/remember:

* The Song of Ice and Fire, George RR Martin
* The Chronicles of Narnia, CS Lewis
* Tigana, Guy Gavriel Kay
* Acacia, David Anthony Durham
* The Liveship Traders, Robin Hobb

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments Hard to think of anything that's not a kid's series, but there's also The Spiderwick Chronicles and A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Monica Davis Femmy, would you consider "half" siblings? Seems like there should be lots of choices with that...The Curse of the Mistwraith comes to mind.

Femmy | 166 comments Elise and Monica, thank you for the recommendations!

Janette | 211 comments The Stormlord books by Glenda Larke have siblings as well as other more complicated family relationships as main characters. They are a great read too.

Femmy | 166 comments "Complicated family relationships" sounds intriguing. Thanks, Janette!

Justyna (dzastaxd) There's also The Door to Time by Pierdomenico Baccalario - whole Ulysses Moore series are about siblings. The book's for teenagers as characters there are 13-14 year olds, but my dad had read these series as well and he really liked them.

Femmy | 166 comments Thanks, Justyna. I see that they're translated from Italian. Interesting!

message 9: by Monica (new)

Monica Davis Femmy, I just stumbled upon an entire Goodreads group dedicated to books about brothers. Not plugging the group, but they list some interesting books to read. (Mods, if this is inappropriate, please delete.)

Jingizu Shadowmarch by Tad Williams

Lord of the Rings by Tolkien

Shannara series by Terry Brooks

Dragonlance (first trilogy & Twins trilogy) by Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weiss

Kingdoms of Thorn and Bone by Greg Keyes

message 14: by Femmy (new)

Femmy | 166 comments Thanks for the list, Jingizu.

I'm torn about the Dragonlance novels. I want to read the Twins trilogy because I'm a twin myself. But I didn't like the first trilogy. Too RPG-ish for my taste. Is the Twins trilogy has an RPG feel, too?

message 15: by Janette (new)

Janette | 211 comments I had forgotten about the Shannara novels. The first ones were brilliant.

A.Roma 🇵🇸 (man-u4kb) The Emperor's Blades has 3 siblings as the main characters and the story line is epic, also check out The Darker Shade Of Magic trilogy by Victoria Shwab, trust me you'll love it :)

message 22: by Femmy (new)

Femmy | 166 comments Thanks, Kristina. I've read The Emperor's Blades recently and I quite like it. I'll make sure to check out Schwab's trilogy.

Gregor | 6 comments Dune series. When Pauls children become the main characters. I would guess book 2 or 3, don't remember. I guess technically it is SF though. But a classic anyway.

message 24: by Femmy (new)

Femmy | 166 comments Yes, I should read Dune some time, given that it's a classic. Thanks, Gregor.
