Please keep all discussion and speculation to the events of Part 6 (Chapters 39-44).

No spoiler tags required. Though it would be highly appreciated if you Uncheck Add to my Update Feed to avoid accidentally spoiling this for your good read friends.

Please do not discuss events from later chapters/books. Referring back to events from a previous section/book is fine.

Bill | 1596 comments Egwene is now my favorite character. What a complete badass she has turned into. Not only has she the mental side of being an Aes Sedai down but now has lead them in battle and completely kicked the SeanChan ass. Then she takes the black ajah info from Verin and uses it too start to clean house in the rebel camp.

Siuan makes Bryne her warder after their high school flirtations for the last 4 books about damn time. looks like them "rescueing" Egwene will work out with the Ajah heads deciding on her for Amyrlin of the tower.

Rand has almost completely lost his shit.

I just started this section, but I had to come post because I think the chapter with Verin is one of my favorite of the series. She's mostly a minor character, or at least a secondary character in the series, then this chapter comes along and I'm heartbroken at her death/sacrifice.

I just LOVE how she's been working as a spy for years and years collecting dirt on the Black Ajah/Forsaken/Darkfriends/Dark Lord. Her being Black totally took me by surprise too. And the way it was revealed. Such a great scene/chapter.

I can't wait to read the Seachan stuff. I remember really enjoying it. I had thought that was in the last book so I was a bit disappointed when it didn't happen, then I've been waiting most of this book for it to happen. Now it's finally starting..but I had to stop for the day. Ugh.

Bill | 1596 comments I suspected Verin earlier in the series of being Black but never suspected she might be a double agent. I agree that it was a heartbreaking scene and made me appreciate her much more as a character.

The battle was great, though shorter than I remember. Elaida's been captured by the Seanchan.

So much for Ewene's hope to keep traveling from them.

Bill | 1596 comments Ah I didn't even put Elaida's capture together with the Seanchan getting traveling. That is going to have huge ramifications.

Well, there is no guarantee they realize, but Tuon is smart, I'm sure she's going to demand it of everyone that's been captured, and we know Elaida knows the weave.

Egwene is smart too. She was trying to prevent them from taking anyone who knew it. Of course at this point she doesn't know Elaida's been taken.

Sumant | 522 comments I think you guys have covered most of the important points in this section, and hats off to Verin who does an ultimate sacrifice a huge emotional movement in series.

Also is it me or Sanderson's writing but our major players have really got ruthless because Egwene checking on Verin that if she is really dead was WTF movement for me.

Bill | 1596 comments I think the ruthlessness has been building in each of the characters since they have all been tricked and betrayed at some point in the series. I get why Egwene does it I mean Verin is a self professed member of the Black Ajah even if she is sacrificing herself to betray them.
