Building a SciFi/Fantasy Library discussion

I once found a book, but I can't remember its title nor the author anymore.

It is about a girl and her mother who owns an inn, where characters from classic novels come to take a break from their stories because of depression or other things. These fictional characters arrive from a forest near the inn, and the girl gets involved by defying her mother and entering the forest where one of the bad guys from one of the stories then catches her.

Anyone know which book it is??

Hi, I just joined this group and I know the book. It is called The Heroines. Looking it up here, I see the reviews aren't great, I thought it was ok. An interesting premise where more could have been done.
