Kari | 5 comments Girl returns home to Appalachian mountains...discovers things about families past, coal mining, something to do with grey mist...foggy mist...maybe has the word "light" or mist or fog in the title. LOVED this book and have been searching for it so I can read it again!! Hope someone can help :) It is NOT the John Grisham book Grey Mountain, which is a completely different story line.

When did you read it? Children's, YA, or adult? Author female or male? Remember the cover? What's the time period? How old is the girl? Where is she returning from?

What's the tone of the book? Dark, menacing, sad, mysterious, cheerful, etc.?

Love this children's book, but it's set in Nova Scotia, I think.

Adele | 1425 comments This isn't a perfect match either, but I thought I would put it out there: Home to Currahee When her tragic past intersects with a hero's mysterious legacy, what she does next can change everything by Beverly Varnado
