Dimple Shah has it all figured out. With graduation behind her, she’s more than ready for a break from her family, from Mamma’s inexplicable obsession with her finding the “Ideal Indian Husband.” Ugh. Dimple knows they must respect her principles on some level, though. If they truly believed she needed a husband right now, they wouldn’t have paid for her to attend a summer program for aspiring web developers…right?

Rishi Patel is a hopeless romantic. So when his parents tell him that his future wife will be attending the same summer program as him—wherein he’ll have to woo her—he’s totally on board. Because as silly as it sounds to most people in his life, Rishi wants to be arranged, believes in the power of tradition, stability, and being a part of something much bigger than himself.

The Shahs and Patels didn’t mean to start turning the wheels on this “suggested arrangement” so early in their children’s lives, but when they noticed them both gravitate toward the same summer program, they figured, Why not?

Dimple and Rishi may think they have each other figured out. But when opposites clash, love works hard to prove itself in the most unexpected ways.

I'm glad Dimple had Rishi's back because she was acting ridiculous when she was angry at him when he called those guys out on their BS.

Chapter 27 - 51

(view spoiler)[ Ugh. Sorry. Is it just me? Maybe I haven't read just a romance book in a while. But they are going to fast. Already a kiss? Sigh...

She sidled him with dancing most of the time and complained with a story about how shy she was about it. It's ridiculous. Why do you think he would be comfortable with it too? Rude.

Oh, Celia. Are you just realizing how bad Ethan is?

So she's actually good. I'm glad she got a bigger role.

The thing with the brother... of course that happened. It feels very cliche.

This thing is six weeks and you already want to have sex and are in love after what? three weeks? four?... *groaning sounds*

Celia is such a cliche. This book....

(view spoiler)[I admit after all the groaning I did while reading this book, the last few chapters were sweet and sentimental. BUT, Oh my goodness. The romance was ridiculously fast and Celia was an idiot the whole time. She was just there doing stupid things just for there to be an obvious conflict. A lot of the story just didn't sit right with me mainly because these two people liked each other way too fast. Already butterflies in like chapter 11. This could have been so much better.... I completely agree that their romance moved way too fast. Everything that happened in this entire book was way too predictable. That being said, I think Dimple and Rishi make a cute couple. I also wish we could have seen more of Ashish and Celia, because they might have made a more interesting story than Dimple and Rishi. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I can see why Dimple is the way she is. If my mother was the way hers was I would act that way too. Hopefully Rishi will choose to do what he loves. Nothing will make you more unhappy than spending your whole life doing something that you hate. (hide spoiler)]

10% (view spoiler)[ Going good so far. I love Dimple for her ambition and for standing up for herself, though she seems dismissive of her own culture so I hope she can reconcile the two sides of her life. Still unsure about Rishi, he's cute but left a weaker impression so far. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I'm not really liking Rishi. He is quite the buzz kill. He needs to relax more. I was really disappointed that he didn't share his art with that guy. My biggest problem with this book is that Dimple and Rishi are so different. Which is making it difficult. Opposites attract but it's like they are too differentm (hide spoiler)]

Started. Chapter 1 (view spoiler)[Okay, so contrary to my expectations the writing is good. And the typical indian mother-daughter banter is captured well. Dimple seems to have quite a low temper though. Poor father of hers 😅 (hide spoiler)]

58% (view spoiler)[ This is adorable and I'm loving Rishi a lot more now. The comic setting is great but it's so sad Rishi is so conflicted between his desire and his family. I actually like Celia and the message you don't have to get along with your friend's friends. My one issue is the coding is meant to be the focus but there doesn't seem to be much page time about their app. (hide spoiler)]

Ch 30 (view spoiler)[I'm smiling. This is cute. I love both of them. But don't they seem a bit too young?

80% (view spoiler)[ Their relationship is a fairytale but it's too good to be true, I'm waiting for something bad to happen. I really like Ashish, and I'm hoping Celia comes to her senses and stand up for herself against Evan and what they want her to do in the talent show. Again, still very little to do with coding going on and I'm unsure as to how winning the talent show improves your chances of winning overall. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 47. (view spoiler)[ I dont get Dimple sometimes. She's alright with dating and having sex as long as they dont get married? What the ...? And Rishi seems so genuine about his feelings. I like Ashish though and Celia is being a total douchebag in the pretense of being cool. 😑 (hide spoiler)]

Finished. (view spoiler)[ That was cute. It started off well but somewhere along the end, I think it sorta got the better of me. I kinda knew that Dimple wony be winning the Insomnia Con, that maybe Hari's dad would have bribed or something. And that ending was cheesy. Just glad it all wrapped up well. (hide spoiler)] RTC ☺

I think Dimple's character changed personality a lot throughout the novel. She wasn't the fierce outgoing gurl she was at first. And I was surprised to see that she was an introvert

Started this, I think this will be very interesting especially from a cultural standpoint chapter 5(view spoiler)[ as the mother of a daughter who just had her first year in college the last thing I want her to find is a husband, although my daughter has been with her boyfriend forever, still wouldn't want her to get married anytime soon (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 17(view spoiler)[ OK at this point how could you not fall in love with Rishi? OK maybe this is a mother speaking, LOL
I'm always interested as somebody who did not grow up or is not now super Duper Rich, are people really like that? I went to private university with super rich people and nobody seem to act like that,? Or was I just able to avoid these people? Anyways I think as a rule most people are not quite as elitist as these people, or overtly rude, I loved the dinner scene go Rishi go! (hide spoiler)]

As a complete sidenote in Southern California in the Los Angeles area anyways our weather system when it is overcast is called a coastal Eddie, so I guess we named it as well :-)

@Berit. Yeah at first I was kinda excited to see a YA romance set in my country, but then it turned out more romantic and less of cultural standpoint but nit disappointing though! ☺

Yeah I wish they went more into the cultural aspects, I mean they did skim them, but I have to admit this book was super adorable and it was what was advertised a contemporary romance :-)

My closing thoughts(view spoiler)[ as I said I thought this was really adorable, and I don't think that Demple gave up who she was just because she fell in love with this boy, I didn't see any change in her personality through out if anything I saw her get more confident in who she was, I think in the beginning she was so feisty because she had her defense up (hide spoiler)]

I like Dimple and how she is trying to fight for her dreams, even with her parents. But I don't really like Rishi. He's a little creepy, especially at the beginning.
Also writing style isn't so good. I find it hard to read more than a few chapter in one sitting because of it.

I felt like this book would have been a great opportunity for girls who like to code to geek out about it, but that part was totally glossed over! No details! For someone who was obsessed with coding there was NO CODE-SPEAK GOING ON THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE BOOK!!!

Oh well.

Only 4 pages in, completely loving it!

Right? With Genuine Fraud I didn't even want to pick it up, but I can't put this down! Which isn't good because my show is on in a few hours 😂

I'm 120 pages in and MAY I JUST SAY. This was the perfect book to get me out of my slump, I'm loving it.

50% done! Loving it, even though it's a bit predictable :P
