I love this series because of Nico.
I'm kidding, Nico plays a major part for me but I just love this series for its unique-ness. The ability to make something ancient and mythical feel so modern and alive. The ability to get young kids that hate to read pick up this book and become bibliophilic. The ability to make kids feel like they're no different from everyone else. The ability to make kids more interested in the history of the world. And it's portrayal in making every type of person out there no matter what skin color, race, age, sexual orientation, handicap, etc feel like a hero.
It's beautiful. This series is my childhood and my love.

I LOVE THIS SERIES SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!Actually I've read all the five books of PJO in a row. But HoO, I've waited each year for a new book. So of course HoO has much more importance in my heart. I love all the characters in it, and it feels really really important to me!! Rick is also my Idol author so yeah. What's not to like??

I like both of the series because they have excellent depth and are different from other stories. (Also the humor is nice)
I have to say... I'm halfway through Son of Neptune and I literally love everyone so far in HoO. My fave of the second generation is Piper though, hands down
