Susie Anything is Possible is a companion to My Name is Lucy Barton. It is a series of short stories, and much like Olive Kitteridge, each story is connected. In this case each character has some degree of separation to Lucy Barton.

As with both of the other books I have read of Strout's, I adored this little collection. She has such a quiet, unassuming style that is deeply powerful. Two pages in to the first story and I was already feeling the stirring of my emotions. There are some books that can't do that after two HUNDRED pages. How does she do that? She takes a magnifying glass and focuses it upon a snapshot of a person's life with such clarity and insightfulness. She is wonderful. I just love her writing and will be reading everyting she writes in the future. I also plan to go back and read The Burgess Boys at some stage.

I just finished, Susie, and couldn't agree with you more. LOVE her!!! Her writing is special, and I like how you stated it better than I did . . .but please keep me apprised when you pick up The Burgess Boys . . .I'll read that with you.

Book Concierge, move it up the list is all I have to say.

Susie I'll keep you posted Anita. I'm so glad you loved it too! Book Concierge, I agree - bump it up the list if you have enjoyed her other offerings.

Oooh, that's very interesting and makes me want to get to it.

I read Amy and Isabelle first, a long time ago, and I only gave it three stars then, but that seems odd. I might give it another try.
