If you are willing to place one of your August reading choices in the hands of another person, leave a comment here with at least five books and no more than ten from your TBR shelf. Participants need to leave comments no later than July 25th .

Here's how it will work:
Sophia will match people up and leave a comment with a list of who will choose for whom.
When you see the person you are to pick for, then just look at their list in the above comments and leave a new comment with their name and the book you chose for them by July 31st.

You also need to watch and see what book your person chose from your list for you.
You have the rest of the month to read the book.

So if this sounds like something you would like to do, just comment below leaving your name and list of book choices for someone to pick your August book.

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) I’m afraid I will have to sit out the August read. That month is to be devoted entirely to research for my next novel project and planning for my research trip to England at the end of the month (!!yay!!).

Those are great reasons, Abigail. :)

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) I hope you have a lovely “unplug,” Sophia, and find it paradoxically recharging! I’ll be doing some of that in the fall.

Thank you! It certainly helped last year and will give me some writer cave time, like you. :)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments In my TBR pile I have several works that are in a series, bundle, box-set, or collection. When you choose one for me, I am obligating myself to read the set. Here is the best part… I am keeping a copy of this list and will continue to submit it, with each new ‘Someone Else Pick It For Me’ month, until I clear out my dusty TBR pile. I am tired of freezing up every time I try to decide where I want to start. Hey, I think this will be fun. It doesn’t matter where we start… in a few months this list… ‘will be back’… sorry, couldn’t help it.

1) The Cousins Series [3-Book Box-set] by Jennifer Joy
2) Leaving Bennet Behind Series [Books 1-3] by Sarah Johnson
3) Memory [Books 1-3] by Linda Wells
4) Another Darcy [4-book Bundle] by Jane Grix
5) Darcy and Elizabeth What If? [3 Book Bundles: 1-3, 4-6, & 7-9] by Jennifer Lang
6) A Fair Prospect [Volume l, ll, & lll] by Cassandra Grafton
7) Dearest Friends Collection [2-Books] by Pamela Lynne
8) Meryton Matchmakers [3-Books] Kristi Rose
9) Denial of Conscience Series [3-books] by Cat Gardiner
10) Elizabeth, Darcy and Me Series [3-Books] by Georgina Young-Ellis

I actually have more than 10, but Sophia said 10... so here is my top 10.. woohoo! I can hardly wait to see what someone picks for me.

Erika (eureeka75) | 37 comments J. W. and Sophia, great lists. Here's my list I'm through out to the mercy of someone to pick for me:

2. Passages: A Pemberley Tale by Brenda Webb
3. The Whisky Wedding: a Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet story by Elizabeth Ann West
4. Shadows Upon Netherfield: A Pride and Prejudice Variation by Nora Kipling
5. Elizabeth Bennet's Excellent Adventure: A Pride and Prejudice Vagary by Regina Jeffers

wosedwew | 414 comments I will keep my previous list -- pick one you liked for me!

3. Engaged to Mr Darcy: A Pride and Prejudice Continuation
4. Longbourn's Unexpected Matchmaker
5. Waking to Mr. Darcy
6. The Madness of Mr. Darcy
7. His Inconvenient Choice
8. Her Heart's Choice
9. Expectations: The Transformation of Miss Anne de Bourgh

message 10: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) Wow, J. W., that’s really a commitment! An entire series!

message 11: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments yep, since I retired... I'm game for it. My series were starting to pile up and I was becoming claustrophobic. I needed to clean them out and thought this was the perfect plan. The list will return with the next 'pick month' and I'll eventually get them out of my hair and off my TBR pile.

Parked at the Mansfields' -Sandy Ward Bell

Thanks!

message 14: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) It’s always a fun adventure, Sara! Glad you can join. Lots of good options on your list.

Way to rock the non-P&Ps, Kirk!

message 15: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments Sara, that is the problem with creating a list. It reminds me of those still in my TBR pile and makes me want to read them. I had to take them off my carousel on my Kindle app so I wouldn't see them as I scroll through my books to read. We have to do these little things to help. Anyway... you have a great list, I see several I have read, some on my TBR pile and some on my wish list. Excellent choices.

Here is the result of the drawing. Remember, the person listed on the left picks for the name listed to the right. Pick from the person's list in the above comments. Please make your picks by July 31st so we can begin reading right on August 1st. Make a new comment with the person's name and the book you picked for them. Oh, and don't forget to check for a comment with the book choice someone else made for you. After your read, drop by and let us know what you thought of your book.

Sara | 328 comments hi Victoria! I'm so excited about your list. So many of yours are ones that I also want to read. So, I've picked Vanity and Vexation: A Novel of Pride and Prejudice by Kate Fenton for you because i'm dying for your thoughts before I read it myself. Happy reading!!

Hi wosedwew! Of your list, I've only read two so far but I WON'T choose Longbourn's Unexpected Matchmaker for you as I wasn't overly fond of it myself. I will, however choose The Madness of Mr. Darcy as I DID enjoy it. It's a very different variation and very far from canon but I thought Alexa Adams wrote it beautifully. I read it on my Kindle not long after publication and have since been lucky enough to win a paperback copy, so it's on my list for a re-read at some point.

Hope you enjoy it!

Thank you, Anji! I already own this one but keep putting it off (just too attracted to shiny and new, I guess). Looking forward to reading it!

Always a pleasure. Just was up in sky-high country and walking the trails around Snow Basin in Utah where they held the Olympics years ago. Sooo pretty. :)

I am having a ripping good time, Jeanne. I've camped in a volcano crater up in Idaho and hiked a few of those trails, walk the trails around a Japanese internment camp, visited a potato museum and an atomic energy museum, hit a few local delicious must-eat food places.
And yes!!! Creative juices are flowing, for sure. I've been working on a writing project that has me very excited. And of course, getting some fun reading in too.

Thanks for the well wishes and oh yes, I know without a doubt that this lovely group is in good hands with or without me. :) You guys are all very precious on-line friends and it shows. :) You take care, too.

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) Sounds like a fantastic western odyssey, Sophia! I love the sorts of things you choose to visit. One of my odder ones, on a trip nearly ten years ago, was the Pencil Museum in the Lake District of England. Surprisingly interesting.

It has been a blast, Abigail. I do like a good blend of nature and intellectual nurture. :)
Your pencil museum would definitely appeal to me. I love places like that.
