A interesting article that gives insight into Hollywood.

Justin (justinbienvenue) I always thought actors/actresses like to think they do and in reality agents, producers and directors own Hollywood, the idea that is Hollywood anyway.

Kim | 6 comments I have been enjoying these articles you have been linking to and the discussions. This one definetly was enlightening. I can't imagine being an author and putting your blood, sweat, tears, and time into birthing a work and then what happens when you give your movie or television rights to your work. They may or not ever do anything with those rights ever. If they do something it may not go out to the public. If it does make it out to the public it may be unrecognizable from the book you wrote. As a reader I now can understand why the book is sometimes better than the movie or so different than what I read. I will still see movies based on books, especially ones I have read, but I have a lot of empathy now for authors whom give their rights to their works to Hollywood. Thanks again for the imformative article link.

Justin (justinbienvenue) The main reason the book is usually always better is because the author's story is being told in the book. Whereas, in the movie version while it's still the authors vision, the directors have most likely done away with stuff, added stuff and just changed it up to where it's nothing like the book.

The reason I like books compared to movies is because I can imagine things in my own way. It will be different to what 10 other people imagine it as and that comes out in movies when the director is in charge.
