Daisy | 1399 comments OK, let's think about this; If you had the chance, would you choose to become a werewolf??? Here's some advantages and disadvantages to help you decide:

Advantages to being a werewolf:
Super speed, strength and general agility.
Can go to monthly werewolf gatherings (which could be pretty cool) with other local werewolves.
Can experience what it's like to become a wolf once a month. (that's probably an advantage, right?)
Super sense of smell, hearing, taste and eyesight.

Disadvantages to being a werewolf
Can't see anyone who doesn't know the werewolf secret during night at the full moon.
Your hair and nails may grow when you are nervous, panicky or excited.
You have to turn into a wolf every month! (which may be painful not to mention awkward . . . ?)
An extreme allergy to silver.

If you have any other disadvantages or advantages to add to the list please comment below and I can add them. :)

Please try not to give away any major spoilers here - this is a non-spoiler discussion, we have other spoiler-allowed discussions elsewhere that you can talk about spoiler-y stuff in.

So, now all there's left to do is DECIDE! Do you think you'd want to be a werewolf?

Daisy | 1399 comments There is also the fact that being a werewolf makes you want a more meaty diet, but I'm not sure if that's an advantage or a disadvantage. I guess if you really like meat it would be an advantage, what do you guys think?

message 3: by Emy (new)

Emy I wouldn't want to be a werewolf.
For me, I already have a good sense of smell, hearing, and taste. (At least this is what other people told me.)

You said werewolves have a more meaty diet.
Even though I'm not a vegetarian or vegan, I don't like to eat meat. I try eating it as little as possible.

So yea. This is what I think.

Sophie | 1254 comments I wouldn't want to be a werewolf either. It would be awesome to be able to run really fast but turning into a wolf every month is NOT worth it.

Daisy | 1399 comments Yeah, I think I agree. There is some pretty cool advantages to being a werewolf but becoming a wolf each month would be quite awkward and I'd hate to hide it from other people.

I am a vegetarian and I would seriously hate to have to eat loads of meat regularly, so that would be a definite disadvantage for me.

Sophie | 1254 comments Me too (a vegetable i mean). Yuck yuck yuck I would HATE to have to eat meat.

message 7: by Emy (new)

Emy I can't be a vegetarian cuz my parents force (not actually force but still) me to eat meat.

Sophie | 1254 comments Poor you (if you don't like meat). It can be hard to be a vegetarian if your parents eat meat. People think it's harder to come up with food ideas or to get your daily iron intake. Its. Not.

Plus it's healthier, no innocent animals have to die, its more creative and yummier! If people didn't eat meat then the people in poorer countries could eat grain from the fields that the cows currently invade. 40% of the worlds greenhouse gas comes from the meat industry, trucks, factories etc. Diseases like bird flu and foot-and-mouth, cancer and heart-disease are much less likely to affect a vegetarian. They are healthier overall AND some reports show if you want to lose weight moving to a vegetarian/vegan diet is the way to do it. You get the goodness without getting the fat.

Leo Tolstoy once said that vegetarianism is the taproot of humanitarianism. He meant that a vegetarian diet is the way to save the world. Read some of these quotes: https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/tag/...

People say to me 'Why don't you eat meat?' but I think the question should be, 'Why are you slaughtering innocent animals for your benefit when you could be having a delicious, creative meal, getting healthier and saving the world?' Or words to that effect :)

Sorry if I rambled a bit there, I'm very passionate about my beliefs. :D

Daisy | 1399 comments WHOA, you really did your research there Sophie! Awesome ramble, I'm very interested in global warming and stuff and I never knew 40% of the greenhouse gases are the result of the meat industry. :0

I feel bad for you Emy, maybe you should show your parents Sophie's little article thingy above! It might persuade them to let you become a vegetarian :)

message 10: by Emy (new)

Emy I hope it can persuade them.

Thanks! :)

And Sophie, I like what you said here: "People say to me 'Why don't you eat meat?' but I think the question should be, 'Why are you slaughtering innocent animals for your benefit when you could be having a delicious, creative meal, getting healthier and saving the world?' Or words to that effect :)"
