If you voted for Photography

If you use the same computer, it will let you vote again if you voted for photography. It won't let you vote again if you voted for one of the other two.
I also will very likely pick it up if you happen to vote twice by mistake . . .so it's not the end of the world if that happens.

Believe it or not, this is only the second time - - but the first time was quite recently, so I see how it feels like more!

Even without prosperous I have around 900 points. I think I'll still get those last two books finished before Labor day to be allowed to use more points in voting, but .... I usually just use my 1 free vote.

I've read several good books with photography as the theme over the last few years and there is a memoir that I really want to read even though I don't own it.
If it is betrayal maybe I will read something on this years election, hah!

LOL! Sorry, that made me laugh!

I missed the original voting for the August tag. I did vote in the current survey. I hope that's okay.
I've been a fan of science fiction for at least forty years. I read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (Blade Runner), The Foundation series, and Childhood's End when they were new books. So here's my question: What the heck is space opera???????

Someone looked it up and must have posted in the other thread...

It's message 65. I don't know if I can point, with a link, to the exact post or not, so the link is to page 2 in the discussion. Just scroll down to message 65.

Good because that was my question too! Thanks for asking Diane :-)

None of the books you mentioned :). Actually, I've never read Do Androids Dream, but am familiar with the others. However, LibraryCin has linked the answer :). Have you ever read the Vorkosigan series that starts withShards of Honor That's one of the ones that fits, is good and you can read the first one or two and not have to continue (I didn't, but I did start with the prequel which was written much later than the first book).

I have to disagree with a few of the classic science fictions works as having romance as the central theme. In particular I question the classification of Rendevous with Rama by Arthur Clarke, Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, and Dune by Frank Herbert as space opera. I by no means want to come off as a science fiction snob, but these classics exceed the standard set for space opera. Also, all this parsing of genres into these narrow subcatagories is a bit overdone. All of this, of course, is my opinion and is not meant as a judgement on anyone else's reading preferences or opinions. I hope no offense is taken.

Neither has 50% of the vote, and photography clearly is out of the running.
