Strongly considering some massive changes to this group. I just think Men's Book Club is a very boring name. I know it's easy to search for and know it's purpose, but I'm considering a name change in the near future. I don't want the purpose to change, just the name! Any thoughts, suggestions, or comments?

I do like the simplicity of the name--it was the name that brought me here as I was seeking ideas for reading that were more in line with my tastes (as opposed to the traditional Oprah reading club type of books).

That said, I certainly can understand that something with a little more 'complexity' might be more appropriate for a reading group--presumably we should know a bunch of interesting words.

Melki | 2 comments As one of the few women in the group, perhaps I shouldn't even be commenting, but I know that Naked Men's Drum Circle and Reading Posse would certainly catch my eye.

I like it.

Christopher (cbesh) | 2 comments When I joined, I was looking for a group that focused on men's interests, so the word "men" in the name was important to me.

Joseph Gonzales | 6 comments I agree with Christopher the name is what caught my eye and made me join because we are reading manly books and whatnot.

Rob Boyd | 1 comments I agree. When I was searching for a book club, I was specifically looking for a men's group and when the name popped up, I was pleasantly surprised. I like the simple name. Let's just not let the club itself be simple...

I'll second the nomination! ;-)
Love the sense of humor, Melki!

Dan Esquire was the name of a famous men's magazine. I think it has a ring to it. But if you want to be original, perhaps Bachelor, or Bachelor Pad? Final suggestion: Man Cave.

Looks like once we have enough suggestions we might have fodder for a poll. Once a name wins the poll, then maybe we have another poll to see if we should switch the name to the poll winner?

Brett Harris | 8 comments I think the name and purpose should be as one. Like many others the simple name is what brought me here. I used words such as,, "man", "Men", "Manliness". My suggestion on a name: Extraordinary Gentlemen

Al Cormier (vavoice) I know I'm new, but I have actually been thinking "Books & Beer" would be a cool name.
