The History Book Club discussion

What we are looking for are teams of folks from each country of the world to help develop threads and have discussions about their country. You would become one of the world thread hosts for your country. The focus of each thread will be on non fiction or historical fiction books primarily which discuss the history, culture, important personages, historical events, government, food and any other important and relevant information and good well thought of books about these areas of interest. The thread would include current events and topical interests as well for each country.

We are not sure how long it will take to get this off the ground but since we are a global group with over 11,000 members - we thought this would be a great world effort.

We will train you on how to do citations and to add the books with synopses the official way - this will help all of the world threads in becoming the best and most interactive that they can be.

If you are interested - this should not take much time overall but is a way to get involved and to make the community better. You would have to be able to have some English language skills.

I will be thrilled to have you help out and each country can have multiple world thread hosts. So please let us know what country you are from or have lived in which you are interested in and we will set up the thread, train you on just the basics and you can help us and the group.

We will set up the appropriate thread for you if they are not set up already. Only our moderators can set up these threads. This is not an opportunity to do any self promotion or spamming.

Croatia here. Soon I will have to start reading alot of literature about Zagreb (the capital) for educational purposes so maybe I'll be able to reccommend the books that I found helpful and interesting

There are so many wonderful countries to set up - Quanjun would you be interested in hosting Malaysia and Jukka would you be interested in hosting Finland - you would be doing many of the things that Samanta does for Croatia and Jose does for Portugal.

Agreed. It seems that our area is often under-represented. When people think of Asia, they often only think of Vietnam, Thailand and that area.

Let me pass your thoughts on to our founder who is presently on medical leave but should be returning soon. Sounds like an addition that we would want to make so that Indonesia is represented. He has the final decision. Thanks......we will keep you informed.
