I read The Baker's Daughter for this prompt and really enjoyed it!

I read The Bonesetter's Daughter by Amy Tan and it was such a good read.

I was going to read Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance but I was given The Unmumsy Mum and I've read that instead - it's ace.

I was going to go with My Cousin Rachel but think I'll use that for film released this year and read Travels With My Aunt instead.

I read The Tiger's Wife by Téa Obrecht. It was a fairly engrossing and deep read; a magical realist tale about a girl, her grandfather, a man who cannot die, and a tiger and their place in WWII and the Yugoslavian Civil Wars.

If anyone is still looking for a book set in two time periods or a book with a cat on the cover, this title would also work for those prompts.
