This was the first book by Scott that I read and made me fall in love with his writing. We will be reading this in August and Rosemarie will be the leader.

Rosemarie Here is a quote from the back cover of the Wordsworth Edition of Ivanhoe that I am reading.

Set in the reign of Richard I, Coeur de Lion, Ivanhoe is packed with memorable incidents - sieges, ambushes and combats - and equally memorable characters.

Scott explores the conflcts between the Crown and the powerful Barons, between the Norman overlords and the conquered Saxons, and between Richard and his scheming brother, Prince John.

Rosemarie Reading Schedule

There are 44 chapters so we will read 11 chapters a week, starting on August 1.

Week 1- August 1 to 7: chapters 1 to 11
Week 2- August 8 to 14: chapters 12 to 22
Week 3- August 15 to 21: chapters 23 to 33
Week 4- August 22 to 31: chapters 34 to 44
