Lena Finished building my bookshelves!!!
I rewarded myself by signing up for this:
http://www.thenocturnalreadersbox.com
https://m.facebook.com/TheNocturnalRe...
https://youtu.be/eeKdwGBGHdo
That and I'm eating chocolate.
August with two horror subscriptions is going to be awesome!
I'm wondering if anyone else does these subscriptions so we can buddy read.
Oh the other one I signed up for is:

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) I've been tempted before - the book boxes are definitely fun

Lena I gave in wildly. Nocturnal Reads also has ridiculously good customer service. I emailed them a question at 11:10 PM last Friday and received a witty informative response at 11:31 PM.

Lena Just cancelled PageHabit. Their first book is Final Girls - this book sucked!

It's just me and Nocturnal going steady now.

D20 | 173 comments Never saw anything like this before. Just had a look and I think I prefer to choose my own books. I'm fussy!

Laurie (barksbooks) (barklesswagmore) I love surprises, especially book surprises, but these boxes all seem too pricey for me but then again I'm pretty cheap. I don't ever buy hardcovers new and my house is so small I have no room for the doo-dads they include. I wish someone would come up with a horror paperback box that only included books. I'd sign up for that. I miss that old Dorchester horror club so much.

If anyone finds one/creates one let me know!

D20 | 173 comments How did it work? Maybe creating one is something we could examine.

Lena The least expensive strictly books one I've found is bookcase.club which, if you buy a year in advance, gives you two books each month, one hard one soft cover, for $4 a book. Next month I'm signing up for their Strange Worlds Box (sci-fi/fantasy).

It wasn't really a book club sort of thing. You basically signed up to receive their paperback horror releases every month for a discount. It was only Leisure/Dorchester Publishing books. I loved getting them in the mail even if I didn't love all of the books.

That sounds like a good deal. I'll go check it out. Thanks.

A few minutes later: Ahhh, no horror yet. That's too bad :( They always think of us horror fans last. It took years and many requests for Netgalley to finally create a horror category.

Lena True. But I know a lot of horror fans consider psychological thrillers part of the genre. And I love sci-fi/fantasy too :)
But yes, I'm sure they will get around to horror.

Kylie (new-vogue-ravyn) | 9 comments The Nocturnal Readers Box sounds really cool. I'm already signed up to a subscription box service for goth/horror jewellery and doodads (http://www.spookyboxclub.com/ for those interested) and getting boxes really is like getting a present every month. However considering the amount of books I own but haven't read yet I don't think signing up for it is a good idea right now.

Lena The TBR is the stack that's always about to fall on you.

Stacks in my case, and either they'll fall on me or try to trip me up. Sometimes they spontaneously crumble in the middle of the night, a sign of poor workmanship on my part.

Wow. I hadn't heard of this one but April's box looks so cool with the Cujo stuff and Overlook hotel glass. Eeek, 3D Glasses? Too cute. They don't have the June and July up on the What you missed page yet.

So this was September's Box. I did want that copy of Doctor Sleep but I'm ambivalent about the rest. I'll give them one more month but I think we'll be breaking up.
