Kat (kate_schechter) | 39 comments The narrator Wanda McCaddon has 4 GR profiles, her real name, each of her primary pseudonyms (Nadia May, Donada Peters), and one entry that seems to be a name concatenation (Donada Peters McCaddon.) The author description under each profile links to the other profiles (except for the single title listed under Peters McCaddon, which seems to be an error to be corrected/merged with the correct pseudonym.)

Wanda McCaddon
Nadia May
Donada Peters
Donada Peters McCaddon

The problem is that you can't see listings of all editions she's narrated; you have to look up each name individually.

Is there a way of physically linking all her pseudonyms so that a search for Wanda McCaddon also pulls up editions narrated under her Nadia May and Donada Peters pseudonyms?

Would the answer be to do what you do with authors, and add her real name (as an additional author entry) to all editions narrated by her under a pseudonym? Would you then also have to add her other pseudonym to each edition, so that in every edition she's narrated all three names are present?

I know this would be a monumental task, but it's something I've been wondering about for a while…

Donada Peters McCaddon was clearly an error, and has been removed from the one book it was on (which also had a correct name).

The other remain as is. We would generally only add a secondary author name to each listing under a pseudonym by the author's request.

Checking my understanding: there's no way of pulling up all editions by someone with multiple pen names unless each name is added in the author fields, right?

Or if I'm reading the librarians manual correctly, the other option would be to add and link original name or other pen names via a Librarian Note in the description field, or using the Librarian Note feature located above the Title field.

In the case of Wanda McCaddon, editions previously issued under a pseudonym are now being reissued using her real name. So there are different editions of the same book (using the same original recording) with old and new names on the cover. If I understand correctly, the correct thing to do is list it under the name it was originally published with, and add the current cover name as an additional author. Is that right? Or does that apply only to the book's author, not a narrator?

Example: book recorded in 19xx
1) 19xx released as Nadia May on cassettes;
2) 200x released as Nadia May on CDs;
3) 201x released as Wanda McCaddon digitally & again on CDs.

For each of these, which name to include in the author field, using which role (narrator/reader and/or pseudonym)?

Thx

It's only necessary for the author, not the narrator.
