I have a lingering question, based on something I read on "The Prince."

Yes! But, I would try to finish Happily Ever After before starting the Heir, because it kind of explains it, I believe. Also, the first couple of chapters of The Heir explain the change as well.

I've read up to chapter 7 so far.

(view spoiler)[I'm not finding Eadlyn as annoying as everyone saying she is; I kind of like her attitude. I totally can feel for her in terms of being the oldest child and having a lot expected of her, and I think it's a little unfair that she is expected to take on so many responsibilities for the kingdom just because she was born 7 minutes before Ahren. I'd probably be pretty annoyed about that, too. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 13

(view spoiler)[I think it's pretty obvious that Kile will end up being the one Eadlyn marries, but maybe that's just show for now. It's interesting seeing Eadlyn let her guard down a little and surprise herself with the emotions she's feeling. Everything seems to be working out a little too perfectly, but it's enjoyable nonetheless. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 19

(view spoiler)[This is moving kind of slowly so it's taking me a little more time to really get into Eadyn's story, but I still like her character and I'm excited to see where her relationship with Kile goes. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 25

(view spoiler)[This is feeling a lot like a season of The Bachelorette, but I love it. I see why most people think Eadlyn is annoying, but I think her complaints are pretty valid and she (usually) handles herself pretty well. I also love her relationships with her family, and getting to see snippets of the lives of characters from the original Selection trilogy. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 31

(view spoiler)[Even though he's not one of the Selected, I'm really rooting for Eadlyn to end up with Erik! I think they'd be really cute and work well together. Their connection seems so much better and more natural than her relationship with any of the other boys. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Wow, the ending seriously surprised me! I really feel for Eadlyn and how she feels almost betrayed by her twin brother. She was giving him only another perspective based on what she'd learned through her time in the Selection process, and he took such drastic measures, seemingly to prove her wrong? That seemed a little harsh but I can also see his point-of-view. I sincerely hope America ends up okay! I can't wait to finish off this series and see what happens to Eadlyn; the ending really gave me hope that she'll have a happy ending. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I kind of like Eadlyn, but everything feels way too rushed. It's like making a summary of all books together in one. It's obvious she'll end up with Kile (I agree with you), but I kind of also like Hale and Henri. Not sure about Ean though, he could end up being trouble. (hide spoiler)]

So, I think that (view spoiler)[ America's heart attack was really unexpected, as Ahren running off with this Camille princess. It's really exciting to know who will win, but overall I feel like there's a love triangle (pentagon?) including Erik instead of Henri. He could be a good diplomat. Let's see how the series ends!
