Fantasy Buddy Reads discussion

When I find a great series I always look up fan art. I love to see people's interpretations of characters and iconic scenes.
This is meant for us all to enjoy and share our favorite book related images and art

-The only rule is that this is not a cover art competition. (Works created by a cover artist will still be accepted provided the image was not accepted for the cover itself)
-There is no limit on the number of submissions. The more the merrier
-you may link via hyperlink to the image, or use the Goodreads HTML feature so people may see the image directly on the thread
-contest will run for 1 week, but may be extended at my whim
-Winner will be nominated by the group. Image with the most noms wins. (No self noms)
-Whoever wins gets to brag and receives a hearty slap on the back

I think it would be a good idea to also provide the link to the original image source. Or at lease indicate who the artist is. I'm not sure how far copyright law extends, but we don't want to get in trouble (not to mention we want to give credit). :)

Petrik I figured you would be as into this as I am. I always look up fan art when I am reading a Book!

Spoilers I'd just warn what book it's from and if they can't handle it then that's their problem! Cause I wanna see some goddamn art!

Siege of Pale Gardens of the Moon

The Ascendant Warrior



This is my favorite of Vin from Mistborn. This is called "The Ascendant Warrior" by Miranda Meeks. No spoilers =]. Sanderson has actually used her art for the covers of Shadows for Silence and Secret History, so I'm not sure if this counts, but I have one more to share just in case ;].

Ok now I'm interested since I LOVE seeing fan because it helps visualise some stuff clearly but it also shows the artists love for the series who take there time to draw these amazing pieces

Also the gardens of the moon picture has definitely got my attention now my excitement has reached defcon 1 hahaha thanks Scott

Also it great to see different pics of vin since I struggle picturing her easily but this one is probably my favourite picture of her

That art for the Siege of Pale.. if you don't get some sort of chill, or sudden need to go medieval then you're basically a shell of a person

Ps I'm on nights all weekend so I have 12 hrs x 3 days to flood you all with fan art

And yes as long as it's not a cover art piece it still counts. Most of the artists for covers are fans of the genre
