Was I the only one that thought the plot was kinda sorta even just a tiny bit similar to that of Tell Me Three Things? What with the whole anonymous lover thing, and exchanging messages back and forth and getting to know each other on a deep level before finding out their true identity at the end?

Yep.. Totally did. It was also very similar to "Alex, Approximately". It's basically the same plot.
