I'm so excited to read Rebecca with you this month. I would love to know who else is reading along. Please introduce yourself, where you're reading from and if classics are something you read often.

I'll start. I'm Krista (obviously! haha) and I'll be reading from all over this month - a beachhouse in MA this week, back in Foxboro, MA next week and then in Richmond VA at the end of the month. I do enjoy reading classics lately, but that's been a very intentional choice in 2017. I was burnt out on them after graduating college with a degree in English and took many many years "off" from reading classics. SO glad to be back into them this year.

April (Bookish Fairy Godmother) (goodreadscomapriloverall) | 5 comments Hi! I'm April - I've got a booktube channel called Getting Hygge With It and I am most definitely joining this readalong! Very excited to finally pick up Rebecca. I won't be able to start right away as I've got about three books on the go right now BUT by mid month I will be whole heartedly into Rebecca! Can't wait! Krista, I just wanted to say that I totally hear ya on the classics bit. I was an English Major too and 3 years of analyzing books and reading heavy books can make you a little leary of reading more classics. That said I think Du Maurier is meant to be quite a fun author. I'm pumped!

Lina | 4 comments Hi! I'm Lina, and I'll be joining you from Sweden for this readalong, which I am SOOO excited for. I've been wanting to pick Rebecca up ever since I got my copy back in April, but I've been saving it all this time just so that I could read with you all. :)

I don't have a degree in English, but I did take a semester of literature studies before settling on my current degree, so I've read a fair bit of classics as well. My fave is probably Jane Eyre, or Wuthering Heights!

Austin D | 1 comments Hi everyone! I'm Austin from Orlando!
I first read Rebecca about 5 years ago and absolutely fell in love with it! My mom had read it when she was a teenager and told me she thought I would enjoy it--she was completely right! I then made all my coworkers read it immediately. Lol!

Similar to April, I'm currently reading three books (one of them is a re-read of Gone With The Wind, which is amazing but a chunker!), so I'm unsure if I'll be able to join in on time. However, I can't wait to hear what you all think! :)

randomreader (goodreadscomrandomreader) | 43 comments Hi guys, I'm Jenna from central FL, about an hour away from Orlando. I started Rebecca a tad early this month because I'm so excited to finally get to this book. I've heard so many people rave about it!
I have a BookTube channel called "JenTheLibrarian" if you're interested in checking it out. :)
Can't wait to chat with you all!

Deirdre | 6 comments Hi, I'm Dee. My booktube channel is booksandquirks. I'm so excited to be joining in. I was an English Lit major in college as well and absolutely love classics. However, I've never read Rebecca and I'm excited to see what I think of it.
Thank you for hosting this group Krista!

Candace | 16 comments Hi guys my name is Candace. I joined this month to read Rebecca. So excited to see there's a lot of booktubers joined I love! My Booktube channel is Beacon Hill Books. Nice to meet you all!

message 10: by Diane (new)

Diane | 22 comments Hi, I'm Diane from Michigan. I actually have not read a lot of classics. I was a science major in college/graduate school and I wasn't required to read very many classics after I left high school. So, I am a little apprehensive about whether I will be able to finish Rebecca. But I've heard good things about it so I am hopeful. I actually had Rebecca checked out of the library several months ago but never got around to it so it will be good for me to get it another shot.

Debbi Faust Hi, I am Debbi from Washington State. I have read Rebecca twice in the past but look forward to reading it along with all of you. I have seen the movie and loved it. Happy reading to all of you in Krista's group.

Amber Eats Books (ambereatsbooks) | 12 comments Hi everyone! I'm Amber. I have a BookTube channel called Amber Eats Books. This will be my first time joining in. I couldn't be more excited! This will also be my first Daphne Du Maurier book. I'm looking forward to experiencing this book with all of you :)

Yay Amber!

Stephanie | 6 comments Hello, I'm Stephanie. I saw the movie late one night and loved it. Imagine my surprise when I saw it in book form at a layover in London! I had to get it and am excited to start it with you all!

I was a science major too, so I'm not well versed in classics. However, I've found I do enjoy certain creepy classics. Some of my favorites are Frankenstein, Wuthering Heights, and Jane Eyre.

Alex | 6 comments Hi!
I'm Alex. I am a teacher in North Alabama. I love reading and am thankful this group challenges me to read books other than children's books and professional literature. I am so excited to read Rebecca. It is a book that Booktube made me buy, so now I get to read it!
Happy reading!

MsAprilVincent | 5 comments Hi!
I'm April, from west Tennessee. I don't read classics very often for the same reasons many of you mentioned (teacher, English major), but I always loved them when I did.
I checked out Rebecca from my school library, and the other teachers at my table went crazy: "That's on my top ten!" "You're going to love it!" etc., so I'm excited to get started 😄

message 17: by Cassie (new)

Cassie | 37 comments I just ventured out to the library and grabbed a copy of Rebecca to read along this month. I've had this book on my radar and to-read list for at least a few years but never been committed enough to begin.

message 18: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda I started Rebecca today and am so excited to be part of this group. This book was on my must-reads for this year, so perfect timing! I've seen the Hitchcock movie many times and am curious to see how the book compares.

I'm trying to read more classics this year, including finishing all of Jane Austen's novels. (I only have Sense and Sensibility and Lady Susan to go). I also read Jane Eyre for the first time this year.

I live in Texas, not too far from the Gulf Coast.

message 19: by Robyn (new)

Robyn (driftlessreader) | 28 comments Hello-I'm Robyn! I have a BookTube Channel-"Reading with Robyn"-I'm not an English major...Bachelor of Science in Nursing :) 19th Century British literature almost killed me in college, BUT since then I have discovered that I do actually enjoy reading classics when I'm not being graded or being called on to analyze them in a room full of art majors that have way better functioning left sided brains than I do :) Very excited to read Rebecca! I'm hoping to love it so that I can read My Cousin Rachel soon too!
