Technically, this is our July read as it should have started on July 20. It's a short book & a comic so I think we can do it. I will probably fall behind as usual, but I hope not.

I'm behind, too. That's usual for me. I am about a third of the way in. It's ok, I'm just not sure where it's going & I think it's supposed to be funny. I'm not seeing that at all ... maybe it's just a bad time for me to be reading it. It's not a bad read though.

:-) Always my intent is more ambitious than my performance. I’m still working my way through Shadow of the Moon.
I’m looking forward to your thoughts on LJ.

Glad to know it wasn’t just me. I was seriously underwhelmed with it, but I can say I finished it.

Lucky Jim – Kingsley Amis – 1*
Maybe I’m too far past my college years. Perhaps it’s the dry British humor. Or the 1950s setting and writing style (first published in 1954). But I just don’t see the humor in this. I struggled to finish and did so only because I had committed to a buddy read.
