I've been absent for awhile due to my husband's illness. Sadly, he passed away on 7/22.

I've chosen a book from our list for August using random.org. It's Shadow of the Moon by M.M. Kaye. This will start August 20. I'll need to check on the length to see how long we need to devote to this one. Looking forward to this one.

It's over 800 pages so I'm allowing 2 months ... August 20-October 19. I'll add a nomination thread soon to choose a book to begin October 20. I'm still reading Five Smooth Stones. It's wonderful ... I just get so distracted.

OH, Martha... I'm so sorry for your loss. Take the time you need to grieve and process. Books can wait for now.

I’ve downloaded this one to my kindle. Maybe I can start it later this week.

Still haven’t started this one, but I am reading a little more. Still struggling with Eragon & just started Lucky Jim. I’m going to try to be more active on here soon. Maybe finish out the year with the books we have & start fresh for January.

Still haven't started this one. Maybe soon. Am reading more, but trying to finish as many as I can before the end of the year. :-)

Well, I’ve been reading it for awhile & am a little over halfway. It’s very good. So glad I’m reading it. Not sure I’ll read another of hers soon, but will eventually. It’s so long, but I’m at the point where I don’t want to put it down.

I finally finished Shadow of the Moon. An excellent story set in India. Very long & full of death, fighting, romance, disappointments ... and historical fiction. I want to read more set in India, but not right away.
