The first one is: The Dark which is the second book in the Guardians of Time series. This one is proving to be much more enjoyable than the first book so that's a positive! The general idea of the book is that there are two "teams" The Guard (who are the good guys) and The Order (who are the bad guys) and both are trying to ensure that the world goes the way they believe it should. The Order are ruled by the Goddess of Chaos so they want to destroy the current way of life.
Both teams have the ability to travel through time, to the past, to affect current or future events.
The second book I am reading is: The Raven Boys which is the first in a series. It is proving to be highly enjoyable and I am devouring the story. It follows Blue, the teenage daughter of a psychic though she doesn't have any particular power of her own, and Gansey, who is a posh Eton-type of guy who goes to the local private school. Gansey is on a quest to find one of the Lost Kings of Wales and Blue is just trying to avoid falling in love because she has been told all her life that if she kisses her true love he will die. And after seeing the ghostly form of a boy she knows she is trying even harder to prevent love coming into her life.

This is the first book of a 'new' series in the Mortal Instruments universe. I thought the original series were alright and LOVED the prequel series (the Infernal Devices). I'm hoping I like this one too.

2 books at once?! Do you find it hard to switch between the two?
Also, out of interest, what genres are these books? :)

How do you manage to read 5 books at one time? WOW! We are very impressed. Are they all in the same genre?

If characters have similar names, or the writers have similar ways of writing then sometimes it can be difficult, but 9/10 usually I have no problem :) I do find that I am usually interested in one more than the other but that's normal I think.
They're both YA at the moment, which is my preferred genre :)

I've been speaking with one of my colleagues in marketing, and they are actually reading the same series as you at the moment! They're currently reading Lord of Shadows, the new book in The Dark Artifices series. It's her favorite Cassandra Clare series yet!

I personally like reading one book at a time, but find that some of my colleagues enjoy reading several at once. Maybe I'll have to give it a go and see how I get on! :)
