A. Tebbs My daughter is just starting teen years. She's a fast reader and quickly growing bored of the books she's already read, but I just can't keep up with how fast she reads.

Do you know of any clean, uplifting, inspiring books for teen girls? She loves action and adventure books. I was also hoping to open her eyes to see just how much impact being a woman can make. So much today is about girls totting guns and saving the world.

Well, last night, I comforted two sick kids--it saved their worlds

Kristi Cramer (kristicramer) | 109 comments Ultimate Nyssa Glass: The Complete Series

I'm just about finished with this collection. They're steampunk, fun, adventurous, and sweet. Nyssa is a strong female who always has a hand in saving the day - by using her brains and skills, not guns! She's thoughtful, doesn't do much knee-jerk reacting, and has a strong sense of family and morals. She makes some questionable decisions, such as choosing to go alone to meet someone who has evidence she needs, in the middle of the night, but that's the kind of thing where there wouldn't be much of a story if she didn't.

There's mention of Christianity and some prayers being said in times of anguish, but definitely not overbearing or bible thumping, in my opinion.

There are a lot of older books of this type that I know of if you think your daughter would be interested in reading them.

Pamela Humphrey (phumphrey) I really enjoyed the Mysterious Benedict Society series. There are three books and a prequel. The three books follow a group of smart kids on their adventures. The prequel is about Mr, Benedict, but I haven't read that one. My kid likes it.
