Eliot Dear community!
As a wee child, I was absolutely in love with one lady children's author. Naturally I have no memories at all of either her name or her books titles and I can't go back to that specific school library I used to borrow her books from, but there are some clues I have, and hopefully someone will be able to help me. Firstly, I'm fairly sure that she had a simpler English name. Secondly, I remember 3 of her books: One was about a cat who had its secret cat community life at nights, but during the day was fairly normal, and one of its owners, a little girl was doing ballet. My edition had a purple backdrop with the orange cat at its center for cover. The other two were about this trio of witches who had green skin, and I'm pretty sure that in the second one they had some conversation with a priest or someone in a small town. I know, this is not a lot, but hey, this is Goodreads, so maybe? Thank you for your help in advance! (Also, I hope this is the correct folder for this.)

I'll leave it in this folder for several days. If it gets solved, or needs to get properly filed, I'll move it to our 'what's the name of this book' folder.

They do sound like cute books; I hope somebody knows them!

Were these picture books or chapter books?

Eliot Cheryl - Thank you!
Beverly - Chapter books, with a few occasional pictures at most.

Eliot I also forgot to add that this author shouldn't be too obscure, since even my suburbian elementary school library had a few copies of the Hungarian translations, which tipically is not the first language you translate something onto.

Keith Wheeler | 11 comments About what year were you a "wee child"? It'll help pinpoint the publication date.(i.e. If you read it in the 80s, we know it wasn't published in the 90s, etc)

message 7: by Eliot (new)

Eliot It was somewhere around 2003 or 2005. Not very long ago, I know :)

Eliot Update: I'd like to thank everyone for their help, I accidentally remembered the author's name, that is, Kate Saunders.

I'm glad you solved it! I was going to suggest Ruth Chew, also. I'll have to check out Kate Saunders' books, they sound charming!
