We have media contacts with certain literary magazines so when we hear about a Call for Submissions, we’ll post them here. Please add to this thread if you hear of anything so we can give all writers a chance to get their work published and read. And for readers, you’ll know which magazines publish short stories :)

Could you please add links to the magazine's website in these listings? That would be really helpful. (And cut down on google's server hits since I won't have to search. ^_^)

EDIT: Genres wanted/accepted would be good to have as well. I write mostly fantasy (and/or romance), so I don't want to waste an editor's time if the magazine isn't interested in that genre.

Of course, URL! We were so excited to share this information that we forgot to put the obvious! Thanks for the other suggestions, Lura! We'll pass on whatever information we get :)

After going to read about this contest, I'm interested now. But I struggle with writing short stories, more so with flash fiction. I've never attempted one so short before. (I did write one that was 300 words a few years back, but it was a children's story. Those are a bit easier to do in fewer words.)

I also don't write horror very often, so that's another barrier. Still. I think I'm going to try to come up with something...

Paula Cappa | 145 comments Lura, I found that writing a 100 word short story to be very difficult but an excellent way of training the creative mind to write really tight and to the point. Every word is so important. Good luck!
