(Since you said it had to be set in "ONE" of the countries, I wasn't sure if this would work. I'm looking at The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane.)

50% needs to be in ONE of the locations.
If those are the only 2 location settings then it could be 50/50 or at least 50%+ in one of the locations.
You would need to read it to be sure, but it looks like it would work

Okay, I get it. You're just saying that you can't use multiple locations to get up to 50%, not that you can only use one location. I'm with you now. Thanks. :)

I'm trying to see if this one will work. The setting isn't listed in the goodreads metadata, but from looking at reader reviews and the author's profile on goodreads, it looks like the whole thing occurs in Arkansas (specifically in and around Little Rock). I guess I'll know for sure after I finish it!

From what I remember MOST of the book is in the USA. But it's been several years since I read it, so my memory may be faulty.

Welcome to the challenge, Stephanie.
Please remember to request a Readerboard name
It may fall under this rule:
"Coffee table", Art books, and other books consisting primarily of images or photographs without a substantial written component (essays, criticism, etc.) may not be be claimed for points."
From what I can see on the Amazon look inside, it has many full page illustrations. Unless there are at least 100 pages of text in the book it cannot be used.

Tess wrote: "Can I use this The Hot One for a setting of at least 50% in California?"
If it is set at least 50% in CA it would work. You would need to read it to confirm that.

It's always best to include a link to a specific book.
Yes, non-fiction set in one of the locations works.
