30.1 - Ava Catherine’s task: Wonders of 7

This is a TWO book task. Read one book from two different options.
Required: Identify which options you select when you post.

Page total must equal 500 pages or more.

No books with the main page genre of “children’s” or “kid’s” may be used.

Extraordinary things have been counted in sevens since ancient times: continents, oceans, days of the week, and wonders of the world. ‘The Seven Seas’ was an ancient idiom used to identify the oceans of the world. Also, seven has long been associated with good luck.

Option 1: Read a book written by an author whose first and last name initials can be found in the word SEVEN. Middle name initials may be ignored. Letters may only be used as often as they appear. Spaces determine name.

Option 2: Read a book with 7 letters in one of the words in the title. Subtitles may not be used for the selected title word and should be ignored. Only letters count. Hyphens, apostrophes, diacritical marks, and other punctuation should be ignored.

Option 3: Read a book by a single author who has 7 letters in his/her last name. Spaces determine name, meaning the author’s last name is the final word in the name that is preceded by a space. Only letters count. Hyphens, apostrophes, diacritical marks, and other punctuation should be ignored.

I am having a "duh moment here...is it 500 pages per book or both together? I chose two books and then realized it said "500 Pages..."

Dee is correct. You need a total of 500 pages for two books.

For option 2 is only one 7 letter word allowed or can we have more than one e.g. Strange the Dreamer

If one word in the title has 7 letters, it qualifies. You have this one covered! You are approved.

Maybe a silly question, but for option 2 it says no subtitles allowed. Does that mean you can use a book with a subtitle, as long as the 7 letter word is not part of the subtitle; or the book used cannot have a subtitle at all.

I'm not sure if my question makes any sense... Sorry if it doesn't

Shawn @msg #11: The seven letter title word cannot be in a subtitle; however, your book could have a subtitle that does not include the designated title word for Option 2. Not a silly question at all.

No subtitles means the title word cannot be in a subtitle.

For example: The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer would work because "emperor" is a seven letter word in the title. Just ignore the subtitle.

Looking at the page numbers for A Charmed Little Lie. I read the ebook and when I went and looked at the paperback there isn't pages listed Goodreads but Amazon lists it at 210.

Can I still use this book or do the page numbers have to be listed in Goodreads?

If you have another situation like this, you will need to get your book pages verified by a moderator or have a Goodreads librarian assist you with the pages. Look at the ‘Posting Requirements’ thread under ‘The Rules’ heading for guidance.

The book I want to use for book 1 is 23 Degrees South. For book 2, can I choose option F and use the letter T for 23? Thanks.
