Absolutely AMAZING!!! My daughter and I sat outside and watched the day grow eerily dark. The neighbor popped his head over the fence and gave us some extra glasses--EVEN BETTER!!! When the black moon covered the sun, we looked straight up and WOW!!! Too bad this is a once-in-a-lifetime event.
The only drawback is, it didn't last long enough. It came and then it went.
In NJ, the eclipse was 75% totality. So it never got really dark. I watched the progression online for a while and it was awesome as NASA went from place to place along the path of totality. However, we planned to visit my mother-in-law who is in an assisted living facility. When I walked outside, there were little crescent-shaped shadows all over our driveway. Cool. Even better, when we arrived at the facility, my MIL was sitting outside with a pair of eclipse glasses. The activity's director gave me and my husband glasses, too. So we sat there for quite a while watching the moon's shadow move away from the sun. Really quite an event!
