Bang Bang Books Fall is approaching which means many award worthy books will be coming out and it will be difficult to only choose just one. Just in case we don't get to all of them, I'd recommend reading Release by Patrick Ness, All the Crooked Saints by Stiefvater, Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart, and Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds. I've read all of these and think they could get a consideration by the Printz committee. If we didn't choose any or all of these when it's time to make our final predictions, they can at least be in the back of your mind.

Jennifer (crookshanks71) | 24 comments I've read All the Crooked Saints, Release and Long Way Down so far. I didn't really like Release, which was a big disappointment since I usually love Patrick Ness. But the other two titles are on my personal "best of the year" list.

Mandy (mandysouthgate) Thank you Dawn! I'm adding all to my to read list.

Anne Bennett (headfullofbooks) | 81 comments I guess you guys must be on a list to get early releases because Long Way Down isn't set to be published until mid-October; All the Crooked Saints is set for 10/10/17, and Release is due out next week, September 19th. So far Crooked Saints doesn't have any starred reviews, which down't completely equal doom for a Printz contender, but one has to start someplace.

All The Crooked Saints is available for download on Edelweiss if you'd like to read it early. My library is in the advance reader program from Baker and Taylor. If you are a librarian, contact your B&T rep to get in the program. I received Long Way Down from this program.

There are only four months left which means we only have four books to vote on. Just in case we don't select the above mentioned books before January 2018, I just wanted you all to read them before we do a final guess in December.

Jennifer (crookshanks71) | 24 comments I'm also in the Baker and Taylor program, but I got my copies at Bookexpo.

Amanda (lulu9700) | 19 comments I've read Long Way Down and All the Crooked Saints and am starting the other two this weekend. I think ATCS is a strong contender, I felt the writing is beautiful and almost allegorical as you read it.

I am conflicted on Long Way Down. I like the free verse format but don't feel like the characters were a solidly developed because of the format.

Reving | 53 comments I don't know if this is too "young" but I can't recommend Auma's Long Run enough. Incredible. Please do yourself a favor and read this one.
