Bill's Chaos (wburris) Discussion for the book: Astrophysics for People in a Hurry

Bill's Chaos (wburris) I am now on Chap 8. So far I am enjoying this book but finding it very basic. I have been reading about this topic for decades so wasn't expecting to learn anything new.

If you haven't read much about astrophysics before this books will be a great way to introduce yourself to the topic.

His humor is much easier to take in print form. In his live discussions he tends to get a little noisy when laughing at his own jokes.

Bill's Chaos (wburris) I just finished this book.

A great introduction to astrophysics.

Bill's Chaos (wburris) How many people have read this book? Are you still reading it or still reading a book from a previous month?

Vidya (vidyabhandary) | 77 comments Still reading .....

Vidya (vidyabhandary) | 77 comments I finally finished this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is my first astrophysics book - and it was a good intro I think.

Iris (tsuris) | 4 comments For my taste it's way too cursory. I didn't fully understand the concepts that were new to me and the book didn't give me much new information about the already familiar ones. Still, I got a pretty good overview of astrophysics from reading it.
