I know. I was wondering if it was going to be too hard but thought that if we're really creative something will fit somewhere :-)
Finding ways to make books fit is half the fun!

message 5: by Elaine (new)

Elaine | 140 comments That's true I guess. The problem is I think I end up adding more books to my TBR to fit the challenge!!! Lol. :)

In an effort to help out a little bit with this challenge I found the following Listopia list which gives a heap of books that have a 'pun' in the title:

https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/3...

Sorry for making it so hard everyone!

message 9: by Becky (new)

Becky A lot of "cozy mysteries" fall into the pun as a title category.

i finally managed to finish a book this month and now have 2 whole points!
July has just been a shocking reading month for me :-(

message 11: by Elaine (new)

Elaine | 140 comments I'm the same as you Michelle. Nothing that I plan on reading really fits into this challenge but I did just finish The Cuckoo's Calling which will earn me 5 points as part of Becky's Bonus Tasks. Mystery read. As for the rest of the criteria I don't think I'll be reading any books that qualify.

message 12: by Becky (new)

Becky I've been in a reading slump this month plus been so busy! & when I do listen to something or read it, it doesn't seem to fit in any challenge so I just sorta gave up lol

Well, I think that means you're in the lead for the moment Elaine with your 5 points! :-)

Ha,ha!! That's funny as it is only by fluke. Still 2 weeks to go though. I can't believe how hard this challenge is this time . I honestly do not have any books on my TBR that qualify. Maybe The Night Circus but I don't think I'll be getting to that one any time soon.

message 15: by Becky (new)

Becky I didn't care for the Night circus. Water for elephants is a good one if you haven't read it. It's based on a circus.

I have read that one Becky and yes I agree it was quite good.

message 17: by Elaine (new)

Elaine | 140 comments I finished another mystery read Dog Will Have His Day so I will add it here for a total of
10 points. That's it for me. Hopefully next months task will be a bit easier...well at least fit in better with my TBR!!! Thanks Michelle and Kate for coming up with these challenges. They do make life a bit more interesting. :)

message 18: by Becky (new)

Becky I love the challenges too Elaine. I have a huge TBR pile & the challenges help me decide what to read next because I'm horrible at making decisions LOL

Well look at you go Elaine! You're in the lead :-)

Major apologies for making it too hard this month. I didn't really think about how hard it would be when I put the challenge list together. I was having too much fun finding all of the events :-)

message 20: by Elaine (new)

Elaine | 140 comments No need to apologise Michelle. It's good that we're challenged and also get to read outside our comfort zone. Normally I love trying to fit books on my TBR into these challenges. I struggled this time only because I honestly did not have any that fit the criteria. It was still fun. I wish though more people would participate.

Becky I know exactly what you mean. This way at least we get to sort out our books. If you're anything like me I want to read ALL my books at the same time!!!!

I really wish more people would participate too. We have a good number of members now but I'm at a loss as to how to get them more involved.

Oh well, we're still having fun!

message 22: by Elaine (new)

Elaine | 140 comments Yes we are, Michelle and really I don't know what you can do to have more people join in. Maybe they're committed to other groups. I know that although I'm a member of a few groups here on GR I only really participate in this one and the Aussie readers one. I do check in with the other groups sometimes but haven't been reading the books.

message 23: by Becky (new)

Becky I only participate actively in this one, Bookworm bitches & a cozy mysteries one but i really only do the challenges. Sometimes I'll jump in on a discussion but i never really have much to say lol

message 24: by Becky (new)

Becky & if the challenges were easy all the time Michelle they wouldn't be a "CHALLENGE" LOL Plus some people may have thought this was an easy one. I thought it was pretty easy but most of the books i'd have read for the challenge i'd already read lol
