Maya came out feet first causing multiple problems for both her mother and herself. After the painful birth the mother died of heart failure. As a older kid, Maya still continued to be beaten by her father and no one would do anything. In the outside work her father was the most amazing man, he was even charming. But her father at home was horrible. A drunk sometimes. Maya was too scared, too shy to tell anyone what her father was doing. She didn't want him to kill her! Maya hide in her room most of the time. She never wanted to make the risk of her fathers powerful hands hitting her. It was horrifying. She would do her best and try to do as told and to stay away from him when he was home, who meant not eating dinner most of the time. Her brother would help and brought her some, sometimes. He must have been scared of father too. If Maya was too badly beaten up to go to school her father would call her in sick.
One time though Maya had accidently broken a piece of glass. her father blew up and shoved her. Yelling at her not to have foods or drink upstairs. She apologized crying as she did. He didn't care, he pushed her once more. But with her small body she was sent flying down the stairs. She had to be taken to the hospital... Her brother was the one that called... Father had just left her there...

She just didn't like being with the same guy over and over because she thought they would break her heart. She was recruited by a group of older kids who had their own neighborhood basketball league. History: Iolana was born on October 29 to Elizabeth Lancaster and Henry Lancaster. She is the youngest of five children and has always had to deal with sibling rivalry and the likes. Her mother is a teacher and spends most of her time working while her dad is a successful business man. Although she felt overlooked when she was young, at around 13 she became daddy's little girl - in the worst way possible. She avoided going home when she could and would often stay at her best friends house. When her best friend committed suicide she fell into self-harm and even started doing drugs to cope with what was going on at home. Although things have gotten a little better they're still pretty bad, and self-harm is still a major part of her life. Her older brother began to notice something but he ended up dying in a car crash due to faulty brakes. Iolana vehemently blames her father for this and refuses to get close to anyone because all those who care for her and who she cares for seem to end up dead.
Personality: Iolana tends to stay quiet a lot and doesn't usually interact with other people her age willingly. She has social anxiety and therefore prefers to stay alone most of the time. She's amazing with kids and loves playing with them. Once you actually get to know Iolana you'll find that she loves to laugh and she is very empathetic. She's quick with a sarcastic remark and people often times find her to be very blunt, but she's very compassionate and almost never says anything out of spite or just to hurt someone. Initially, aside from coming off as a loner, a lot of people tend to think that she's condescending due to her sarcastic remarks. She finds it very hard to make friends and even harder to trust people. However, once you've gained her trust you'll find that Iolana is extremely loyal. She's a great friend with a big heart.

Alice Hall was born on October 8th and raised by her mother, Mary, and her father, Robert. She grew up with her younger brother, Carter, and her younger sister, Willow. For a while, she lived a calm life with her family, until she turned nine. That was when everything changed. It happened sometime during the night. Everyone was asleep including herself. She was later awoken by a loud sound coming from her downstairs kitchen. Throwing her bed covers off of herself, she opened her door that led to the upstairs hallway. There, she saw her brother, Carter[Age eight] and her younger sister, Willow[Age six], peeking outside of the crack in her door. They had apparently also been awaken by the noises coming from downstairs.
Silently staring at both of them, she made her way across the small hallway to her parents room. When she opened the door, she found that it was empty. Fear began to creep its way into her mind. Where were her parents? Thinking that they were probably downstairs, she walked slowly down the steps of her house. Her siblings followed her, and she did nothing to stop them. Turning the corner at the base of the steps, she heard the noises get louder. There were heavy footsteps coming from behind the door that led to the kitchen. Holding her breath, she turned the knob and pushed open the door. But then, she only got it open a quarter of the way, something stopping the door on the other side.
Poking her head through, she finally got a good look of the room. Inside was a large man that she had never seen before. His back was turned towards her and he didn't seem to have noticed her yet. On the counter next to him, lay a gun. What scared her the most were her parents. Her mother lay on the middle of the floor, a pool of blood surrounding her body. Her eyes had rolled up to the inside of her head. It looked as if someone had hit her across the head with something. Her father was also on the floor and was next to the door, the thing that had been blocking it. He was unmoving, his blood staining the tiled floor.
Alice's eyes were wide, and her entire body was shaking. Someone had broken into her home and killed her parents. From behind her, a high pitched scream emitted from her younger sister. Alice had almost forgotten that her siblings were still there, standing just a few inches behind her. Suddenly, the man who had just recently had his back turned to them, spun around, his eyes narrowed and fists clenched. When she saw him begin to go for the gun that was on the kitchen counter, Alice immediately reacted.
She turned, pushing her sibling away from the door. Her eyes scanned the room for any kind of weapon, but she knew that it was useless. She lived in a house with a six year old. Anything remotely sharp or dangerous had been removed or hidden away. The man burst out from the kitchen door, his gun raised. Alice pushed her siblings behind her, even though she wanted to run away, or hide, or something. A gunshot rang throughout the house. For a moment, Alice felt nothing. She looked over at her right shoulder. Fresh blood spread across her upper shoulder, soaking through into her clothes. Fortunately, the bullet had only grazed her. Then, Alice felt herself staring at her sister. When the bullet hit her, it kept going, and hit Willow. Her sister fell to the ground, not making a sound. Alice covered her mouth with her hand in shock. She suddenly felt sick.
In the distance, she heard police sirens wailing down the street. Kneeling down next to her sister, she felt tears prick her eyes. She could hear the sirens get closer to her house, increasing in volume. Alice didn't really know where the bullet had hit her sister. All she knew was that she was bleeding, and was losing a lot of blood. She didn't really know what happened next, except for the sounds of police officers entering her house and shouting all around her. The next thing she knew, she blacked out.
Afterwords, she woke up in a hospital. Her shoulder was treated and wrapped in thick bandages. She was later told that her neighbors had heard gunshots and called the police. She was also told her parents were indeed killed and that her sister had lost too much blood and had also passed away. Her brother, Carter, was still alive and unharmed. A few days later, she was released from the hospital. Alice and her brother were later put into an adoption home after attending their family's funeral. After a few months had passed, Alice was diagnosed with severe PTSD. Two years later, she and her brother were separated from each other when Alice was adopted and put into the Ackerman family. For a while, Alice made an attempt to be happy with her new family.

Alice Ackerman is definitely more on the quite side. She tends to stay away from most people and doesn't like to talk with them that often. Despite not liking to be judged herself, she does tend to judge people a bit harshly, and it's mostly because of her PTSD and just plain paranoia. Regardless of her shyness and distrust towards most people, she does like to help people who are in need of it. Even if they're strangers(but they'd have to be pretty messed up)she would want to help them in anyway that she can.
