Without more suggestions, we will end with a list of mostly books that I pick out.

The Ancestor's Tale: A Pilgrimage to the Dawn of Evolution by Richard Dawkins. I bought the hard cover edition with glossy pages and lots of color pictures, more than 10 years ago and I still haven't read it. I just noticed that there is a new edition in 2016, so if you purchase this, make sure to get the new edition.
