Which type of book do you prefer? E-Books or physical books made of paper? I prefer Physical books, but lately, I've been reading eBooks on my iPad more often.

message 2: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Reid (kikilew) It never really bothers me what type I have. But when I go traveling I prefer having e-books, mainly because its easier than carrying all the physical books with me.

However if I have only an e-book and I really like it and want to read it again sometime, I buy a physical copy to put in my library because I prefer to keep a physical collection.

I like to read physical books just so that you can feel the pages. It's not a screen you're reading it's an actual book.

Yes, same.

Ubah (theironfeyrules) Physical book because reading on electronics don't seem right.

Aaron (electricfenderguy) | 9 comments Physical books!!!! Electronic books don't feel right either not to mention what if your kindle, e-reader, etc. malfunctions. Then you have to restart your book. lol. Whereas a physical book doesn't require anything other than your book and your imagination. The only advantage of having E-books is that you can store literally thousands or millions of books on one device and not take up any physical space.

Jonna Jean (jonnajean) | 42 comments I prefer physical books just so I can feel them in my hands. To feel the weight of the book. To smell the ink and the pages. To hear the sound of the scraching when I turn a page. But I also read from my e-reader but the feeling's different. Also, when you lose a page or a chapter you're readig, you have to search page by page to find it again. But, instead, when something like that happens to the physical book you're reading, you can find the page easily enough because you can remember if you were in the beginning or in the end of the book or somewhere in the middle.

Well, me too! I mean I like physical books better but if I read a book from my e-reader and like it very much and want to read it again.... Yeah, I buy a copy so I can have a physical collection.

message 9: by Sarah (new)

Sarah I like ebooks if I'm just borrowing from the library, and physical books if I'm buying the book.

Okay I am going the conservation route on this one.....

I LOVE paper books and nothing can ever replace them for me. There is nothing like holding a book in your hands and smelling the air as you flip the pages.

That being said, the population on this planet is unsustainable and we are using up the earths resources. Books are paper and paper are trees and we need these trees to enjoy the biodiversity of life on this earth and to provide us with fresh air.

I love books but I tend to buy them used now and anything new I want to buy I buy it on my nook. With technology, paper products are almost obsolete and its going to be better for the world.

Angie Anomalous (angieanomalous) | 6 comments I'm going to say physical all the way. As a professional book-sniffer, I prefer to be able to open the book and feel the pages between my fingers. I'm not sure if anyone else saw, but there's actually an article of physical book readers vs e-book readers, stating that people who read physical books tend to retain more information than those who read e-books.

Though e-books are a bit cheaper and more convenient, especially since I like to sneak my Kindle at work to read. Either way, I read both types of formats, but prefer physical for the experience over digital for the convenience.

JumbleofJargon Physical books all the way!!!
I hate staring at screens for a long time.

I also read in bed a lot and sometimes I drop the book I'm reading on my face (you might have a similar experience with your phone) and getting hit in the face with a paperback seems much more appealing than getting hit in the face with a kindle or ipad or some other e-reader.

Jacob | 15 comments Physical all the way! It's feels more real, and the smell of a new book is amazing. But ebooks are cheaper... So I guess both are good

message 17: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer R. | 22 comments Physical, I just can't seem to get into any kind of reading on an electric. Wattpad is the only exception.

message 18: by Emma Tracy (new)

Emma Tracy | 9 comments I like to read physical books a lot of the time but I love my kindle at night so I don't have to have the light on and it's way more comfortable to read in bed
