In order to prepare for Halloween, we need some monsters.

Each team will be tasked to create their own monster. It will need body parts, brains, a heart, blood, and enough wattage to jolt the thing to life. The process will take four weeks, from Oct. 2 - 30th. (Just in time for Halloween.)

Dates & Details:
🔌 Sign ups are open now.
🔌 Teams will be posted Sept. 28
🔌Teams will be formed based on amount of books read a week
(see template for sign up at the end of this post)
🔌 The game will begin on October 2.
🔌 The game will conclude October 30.
🔌 If your profile is set to private, you will need to open it for the duration of the game. You may need to be contacted by your captain or the moderator.

How to Play:
🔌 Each team will have a set of tasks to be accomplished.
🔌 The tasks must be fulfilled and enough watts earned so that your monster is complete and ready to be jolted to life by midnight Oct. 30th (MST).
🔌 Books must be reported on your teams' thread.
🔌 Post a link to the book, the author, finish date.
🔌 You will not be required to leave a review.

Qualified Books:
🔌 Books must be a 150 page minimum
🔌 Re-reads are allowed
🔌 Graphic novels and poetry books ARE NOT allowed.
🔌 Anthologies are fine, but you must read the entire book.

Captain Duties:
🔌 I strongly recommend having a captain and a scorekeeper on each team.
🔌 Each team will need to have a spreadsheet to keep track of team's points and books.
🔌 You'll need to begin a thread for your team's discussion and to report books read, much like how we track things over on SS/SSS.
🔌 A captain will need to report if their team's monster is completed and if there are enough watts by midnight on Oct. 30 (MST).
🔌 Report any problems, concerns, missing players, etc. to the moderator. We may need to send out the tracking dogs j/k =]

Template for Signing Up:
YOU MUST use this template when you sign up.
Name:
Willing to be Captain:
Willing to manage a spreadsheet:
Amount of books you read a week:

Obviously, I did this just for fun. BUT... if you want to look at your extra wattage books to see if it's possible to accomplish, you're welcome to do that :)

Alison wrote: "So, if we have built a Monster and are most of the way done with building a Monster a Bride. Do you think that maybe they could have a Monster Baby? :-D"

*grin* Nope. No babies.

But did you know that Victor Frankenstein created something before the monster?
He made a cat. And the cat got it's own BBC animated show!

Frankenstein's Cat by Curtis Jobling by Curtis Jobling

The cat's name is Nine because it's made out of nine cats:
American Shorthair - read a book set in the United States
Cheetoh - read a book within 24 hours
Dragon Li - read a fantasy book
Foldex - read a book with 'X' anywhere on the cover
Maine Coon - read a 400+ page book
Munchkin - read a book with a small child in it
Norwegian Forest cat - read a book with a tree on the cover
Russian Blue - read a book with a blue cover
Snowshoe - read a book set during the winter
plus 1 book for wattage ('cuz cats are small)
