I'm a fan of Dark Confessions of an Extraordinary, Ordinary Woman and Her Own Hero by Jenn Sadai. She's relatively new, but her books are powerful.

I have a few suggestions, hope thats okay?

1) Standalone: The Thirteenth Tale or The Butcher's Hook or Salt to the Sea
2) Genre based My Name is Leon
or Out of the Easy or The Upstairs Room
3) Series read: A Darker Shade of Magic or This Savage Song or Three Dark Crowns or The Lady of the Rivers (since that is the book goodreads suggests to read first in this series)

All of the books are supposed to be or in my option (a handful of them i read and really want to re-read!) the perfect kind of October read with them being very atmospheric in their own ways, beautifully written and also all of them in their own why hunting (not necessarily in the "ghost" kind of way)

I'll be accepting them all this time, but I really must entreat that authors avoid self-promoting their books in here. We have other folders dedicated for book promotion.
Also, each person is allowed to suggest one book per category, i.e., a max of three in total. I'll be sure to add these rules next time to avoid confusion.
