Irvin Irving requests Harry to investigate his son's death. Were you suspicious of his motives? Did Kiz's assurances make you more trusting of the situation?

I'm always suspicious of anything Irving does. I figured he had a devious reason for requesting that Bosch take the case.

I was leery, too, and knew Harry needed to watch his back. Kiz’s influence did make me feel better, unfortunately.

I actually gave him the benefit of the doubt and thought that he chose Harry because he knew Harry would get to the bottom of it.

The fact that this is partially true and his real motive was for Harry to expose the chief's machinations only made me more irritated with Irving - he didn't really care about his son's death at all!

George probably realized he was just a tool for his father and that contributed to his decision to commit suicide.

I never got a sense from Irving that he cared why George may have committed suicide.
