Harry follows two paths in investigating George Irving's death to determine if he committed suicide or was murdered. Where were you leaning before he reached the conclusion of the case? Were you ever suspicious of his wife?

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments I was leaning toward George being murdered and thought it had something to do with his father's job as councilman. I was also looking at George's son as having something to do with his death. I never thought much about the wife.

I had the same thought about Chad, too, based on the first interview. It felt like he was holding something back (he was...the pre-planned trip). Same for his wife. She just didn’t seem to be all that distraught about George’s death. But once McQuillen told his story, I was swayed to suicide.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments I also thought that George was murdered for most of the book and thought that the cop had done it.

I didn't suspect the wife or son.
