Clean Romances discussion

Hi, everyone! I was not sure where to post a short message to introduce myself so I hope this way is OK. My name is Toni and I live in Sofia, Bulgaria with my hubby. No children so far which allows me some free time to read. I love romances, but I found out it is not so easy to discover clean ones. That's why I'm so, so happy to have found this book group!

Hi, I've visited Bulgaria twice (now 13 years ago) and loved it. I write what I call women's fiction because it's not strictly romance. You can explore my books. I'd love to write something featuring Bulgaria but can't quite figure out how to do that. I met many library staff people in Sofia, Stara Zagora, and other places. Bulgarians are very book-minded people. I had much in common with them.

Sure thing. Are you reading women's fiction and romances in English? How many are translated into Bulgarian, and how is it done?

Well, I basically read in English. Why? Because that way I improve my English, I experience the book the way the author intended it to (in other words I get the most of the book by reading it in its original language), and it's easier for me to obtain the books in English. I like to read on my Nook and sadly not many Bulgarian books come in EPUB format. There are quite a number of translations - of course many of them are of R rated romances and I am not interested in those. I am not quite sure how it is done, but I've seen the same book translated anew for a different publishing house - apparently it's cheaper for them to pay for a new translation than to buy the rights for an older one.
