Tomago Many Year passed as sense Kor’ Do was adopted by a loving family that lived in a small City Called New Geneses. Though it was a small compared to some of the bigger Cities, New Geneses still managed to survive by the factories that help produce many of the products the larger Cities needed. Kory as he now goes by always enjoyed stopping by the Factories and seeing how all the machines worked. From time to time one of the Plant managers would let him sneak around just so Kory could watch and see how everything was produced. But one day the very same manager that allowed him to sneak around lost his job due to the safety issues of having a seventeen-year-old running around the plant unsupervised.

Feeling bad about the man losing his job Kory pays him a visit at his home bringing His Mothers Freshly Baked Lasagna. But when Kory knocked on the door using his foot there was no answer. Letting out a deep sigh Kory kicks the door again a little harder this time. Just as Kory was deciding to leave the Door opens, Kory turns back around seeing a young girl around the same age as him with Black hair and Green eyes looking back at him. “Hey, what do you want.” Samantha asked rudely.

Knowing it was Kory that her Father spoke about and in her mind, it was Kory that caused her father to lose his Job. Kory just stood there unable to speak with his jaw hanging open. “Hello, Kid you still with me?” Sam spoke again this time tapping her fingers on the frame of the door. Kory cleared came to his senses and held out the dish, “Um yeah. Here it’s for your father I feel really bad with what happen. I feel like it’s my fault.” Kory responded with a soft tone to his voice.

Samantha took the Dish looking down at the tinfoil cover. “Gee thanks, I’ll make sure I feed this to our dogs. They Love scraps. “Samantha said in a cold tone heading back inside and slamming the door behind her. Kory stood on the porch for a few moments trying to figure out why Samantha was so rude to him when all he was doing was trying to apologize.

Heading back home, which was only a few blocks away Kory kept his head hung low, once he had gotten home he headed right for to the living room knowing his Mother would be watching the news. Kory did not like the news but he did love it when they showed images of the Heroes he had grown to love. As he watched the news there had been no reports on any of the Heroes. Growing bored after few more stories Kory goes to his room to read up on the latest Science Now Magazine. A few Hours later James; Kory’s Father comes home from working in the Mines. It was a hard job but as his father always put it “It Pays the bills”.

Rushing down the stairs Just to see James Kory trips over his own feet and takes a tumble. Rolling down the steps Kory hits his head shoulder and back several times on the way down. Getting up and brushing himself off he gives his dad a bear hug, “Hey Dad! How was mine today? Find any Cool Rocks?” Kory asked a few questions in rapped fire succession. James hugged Kory back then Pulled away with a smile “My Day was great, and sorry Son nothing today it was mostly just dirt and diamonds.” James responded, then walked over the Gina giving her a Hug. “How was your day love.” James asked Gina after giving her a quick Kiss. Gina smirked, “How do you think it was, quiet almost too quiet for my liking.” Gina said.

"Gross,” Kory said rolling his eyes at the sight of His mother and father kissing. Heading in to the back-yard Kory was pretending to be a few of his favorite super Heroes. Though he would get bored of pretending quickly seeing he has not made many friends at school. Over the next few weeks Kory continued to try to go over to Franks house to apologize but each time Samantha was always there blocking his way, always running interference. Soon Kory gave up on trying to say sorry and continued to go from school to home.

Then one day Kory saw Samantha crying in the hallway and approached her quietly. “Hey, what’s going on, why are you crying?” Kory asked. Samantha looked up into his eyes. “Why do you want to know? Its none of your business Kor, now leave me alone.” Samantha snapped Kory stayed quiet for a moment then put his hand on her shoulder. “Well if you want to talk let me know.” Kory said then made way to class, as he walked off Samantha looked up watching Kory leave thinking to herself.

After the school day passed Samantha stepped outside and waited for Kory, as Kory stepped came out of the school he started to head home. Samantha hesitated then started following Kory trying to think of something or how to start a convocation. She felt bad about pushing Kory away when all he was trying to do is see how she was doing. “Hey, Kor wait up.” Samantha called out.

Kory stopped and turned around seeing Samantha approaching him. “Oh, Hey Sam, what’s up.” Kory asked Samantha, looked down letting out a deep sigh. “Look Kor, I am sorry for how I been treating you over the last few week and this morning at school. It’s just.” Samantha choked on her words, Kory looked down at her putting his hand on her shoulder. “What is it Sam?” Kory asked.

“Well you see, the Reason why I been acting so cold and distant is because my Mother Died the day before you showed up at my house and last night because I would not put out. My boyfriend broke up with me.” Samantha explained her reasoning for her actions. Kory just smiled and assured her that he would be her friend and help her though this hard time.

Samantha looked up with a slight smile, “Really Kory that would mean a lot to me.” She said. “So, would you like to come to my house and watch a movie or something.” Samantha asked Kory smiled awkwardly and agreed to go over to her Home. Kory walked up the steps with Samantha and headed inside her house going to the living room.

Samantha Picked out an Action Romance film hoping it was something they could both enjoy. Sitting on opposite ends of the couch Samantha kept looking over at Kory with a smile. But every time he looked back at her she quickly turned back to the movie. Kory would smile sometimes trying to ignore the fact she kept glancing over at him. After the movie was over Samantha walked Kory do the door and thanked him for coming over. Kory smiled as they gave each other a hug.

Heading home Kory could not help but grin the entire time. Once Kory got home He saw both his mother and father sitting on the steps of the front porch looking worried. “Son, where have you been?” James asked seeing the smile on his son’s face. “Oh no, it’s a girl are we going to have to have the talk?” James asked, almost as soon as He finished his words Kory cut in “Oh god no dad, she is just a friend.” Gina laughed at the two.

“Okay boys let’s head inside, at least we know your safe.” Gina said looking less worried now knowing her son was home. James stood up putting his hand on Kory’s shoulder. “Now Look son, I know you getting to that age but you have to let me or your mother know if you’re going to be late. We were worried about you, understand?” James spoke with a tone of concern before smiling. Both Father and Son headed in to the dining room and sat down for supper. Gina was an outstanding cook and would often sell her meals and deserts at the local markets to help make some extra money but mostly she just enjoyed cooking for others.

After eating Kory went to his room and watched TV for a while, passing out with his Television on. James opened the door to Kory’s room and watched him for a moment. “Sleep well my son” He whispered before heading to bed as well. The Next day Kory ran though his normal routine of getting up and going to school and hanging out with Samantha. Over the next several weeks Kory and Sam grew close to each other and started to develop feelings for one another but both had been too scared to say anything.

Staying home one weekend Kory approached James, “Hey Dad? Can I ask you something? How do I tell a girl I like her?” Kory asked quietly, being nervous about even talking about the subject. James smiled and put his hand on Kory’s arm. “The best thing I can say is be honest with Sam. Let her know how you feel.” James said Kory deeply blushed, “Dad I never said it was her”, Kory blurted out. James shook his head, “Come on son I see how the two of you look at each other.” James spoke with a gentle tone as Kory turned beat red.

“Yes dad, your right maybe I should tell her.” Kory said Standing up and heading back into the house. Later that day Samantha stopped by with her bags packed. Kory answered the door seeing she was looking at the ground. “Sam what’s going on?” Kory asked. Samantha looked up at Kory with tears in her eyes, it’s my Father last night he was killed. I have nowhere else to go maybe I can stay with you for a while” Samantha spoke quietly as James came to the door. “who is it son, oh it’s your ‘friend’ Sam invite her in why don’t you.” James suggested. Kory stepped aside letting same come into his house.

“So, Sam what brings you here today?” James asked, Samantha broke down crying even harder. “My Father was Killed last night and I have nowhere to go, I was going to ask if it was ok if I stayed with your family for a while.” Samantha explained James nodded “Of course you can stay here. We would not allow you to just live on the streets.” Gina said interjecting coming from the Kitchen. Kory looked over at his Mother and shook his head, “Alright let me show you to the extra room you can stay.” Kory said and took Samantha up to the second floor of the house taking her to the spare bedroom. Samantha looked around the room and forced a smile. “Thank you for letting me stay Kory, besides this way we can hang out every day.” Same Said sitting on the bed putting her bags down next to her.

Kory looked at Samantha thinking about how it would be having her staying with them, He liked her but this seemed a little much but due to the kind-hearted nature of his parents he was not going argue the awkwardness of having the same girl he had a crush on living with them. Kory headed back down stairs leaving Samantha to unpack. After about half hour Samantha comes down and rejoins everyone in the kitchen as Gina was preparing some clam chowder. Sitting down Samantha looks around for a bit and puts her hands on the table. “Can I have your attention please, I would just like to say thank you for taking me into your home. That was very kind of you and you could have said no but you didn’t. So, thank you.” Samantha said with trying to force a smile. (WIP)
