ARCs Anonymous discussion

This is the topic where you tell us about all your sins (and grabs) after visiting the casino Netgalley, Edelweiss or any other place where you get ARCs.

Welp, I was doing quite well with not requesting any more ARCs. THEN I was going through some stuff on my blog and realized that some series were due for sequels to come out, and some of my favorite authors have books coming out. So...I went on Netgalley to see if any were available for request. Of course, they were. So I requested a few. *sobbing*

Here's what I requested though ^_^
- it's a follow up series to Cossette's Out of Egypt series which was fantastic!
- because I love Chokshi's writing.
- the final (at least I think) in Bogle's Chronicles of Warshard series.

So---hopefully I'll be approved to read ALL of the books denied so I don't have even more to add to my list.

Come on, requesting sequels is alright! It's not like they're new ones :D think of it as some new chapters to the same old book!

I also requested some this week, and I was doing so well last week! But not as many, so I am still hopeful for this month xD

I recently broke my Netgalley ban and let me tell you: I dumped myself with a lot of books. I'm worried about it, but at the same time, I am living for it. 😅😆😍

That means you must've requested more than ten xD seven is a lot! Congrats though, that is pretty awesome, I hope they're all great :)

I requested some in December and January, and the approvals have been trickling in over the last 3 or 4 weeks...


In my defense, all but two are sequels, and the sequels are all series or authors I've been following for years. So I would have been reading those books anyway; I would just have borrowed them from the library. (The two exceptions are The Literary Tea Party and Circe.)

This thread is hilarious, I truly wonder if gamblers and addicts really are like how we are with books lol.

I requested a few and didn't really think I'd get approved, typical when you don't have a NEED for it, you get approved.

OMG, Shadow of the Fox!!!

I got Shadow of the Fox on a request spree the other week - my ban has been renewed unless Archenemies by Marissa Meyer becomes available then I'm all in.

I also got approved and it was sort of a blunder for me. Cause I was like "OH IT DOESN'T RELEASE SOON" (September 4th). And it was a lovely book (The Spaceship Next Door), and so I requested it... Got approved... Subsequently realized that I will have to review it in August. When I am traveling. Which means I need to read it now and schedule it now.

Was finally starting to make a smidgeon of headway with my pile, then got an email saying I'd just been approved by DC Comics (humble brag) for 7 graphic novels I didn't think I'd get and I'm like
