I started him but definitely hadn't finished - there were lots on his English profile that needed the Cyrillic adding back as someone had merged the profiles sometime in the past (multiple years back at least). I'll carry on with them soon if no one else gets to them :)

If an author has books with each on the cover, I would think we should.
Merged the following two per books covers: Marina Tsvietátieva was spelled wrong. Merged into Marina Tsvietáieva
Marina Tsvetjeva merged into Marina Tsvetajeva.

Pretty sure that Marina Tsvietáiev is a spelling mistake too.
I suspect you are right but just so you are aware some people go by the male version of their sirname to make it easier for other people. One example is Nina Dobrev. Her is Dobreva. I doubt this happens with authors much. Merged Marina Tsveáieva into Marina Tsvetáieva (Another spelling mistake)

For A Pig in a Poke, the only other English book by this author, there is no cover on Amazon.
Should we keep both Yuriy and Yuri? Or only Yuri according to the Amazon cover.

Shashi Martynova is the claimed profile, so crosslinking only possible from the Cyrillic profile.
Many of the works that she has translated also need the main author variant adding in Cyrillic (as Second Author).
I changed the primary author profile from Лев Копелев to Lev Kopelev: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...The Cyrillic should be added to the Cyrillic editions.

This thread is for authors who need the Latin or Cyrillic forms of their name adding to various works on their profile(s)
According to policy when some of an author's works are translated into a language using the Latin alphabet (i.e. ABC) the primary author should be changed to Latin Version, with Cyrillic Version as secondary for those works in Cyrillic. Which is often most of them...
Where the author is spelt differently in (for example) Bulgarian and Russian, then only the cover form should be used as secondary BUT all profiles should be retained.
All authors who have multiple variants like this should have Librarian Notes on their Author record to try to avoid the incorrect merging of other profiles into or out of the default (and the consequently HUGE amount of work needed to fix that).
