Let's open the nominations for next month!

Since we now plan to have two Group Reads per month, we're going to have two different categories as well. So when you submit your nominations, be sure to include one book for each of the two categories:

1.) Dystopian/Paranormal/Otherworldly/ect.

And

2.) Contemporary/Real Life

Rules:
1.) Any YA novel is eligible.
2.) One nomination per person, per category.
3.) Nominations are open from the 1st until the 14th of the month, after that, I'll put all the nominated books in a poll until the 21st. I'll let you know which books won on the 22nd.
4.) Please don't nominate a book we have already read. Check our list a Group Reads to be sure it hasn't been read.
5.) Only nominate the first book in a series UNLESS we have already read #1. In this case, #2 is then eligible for nomination! Any stand alone novels are eligible.
6.) Please keep in mind that recently released books, while eligible, might make it more difficult for everyone to get a copy. It might not be available at libraries yet and not everyone is willing to shell out $20 for the hard-cover.

Happy Nominating! :D

I dunno. Does Gayle Forman actually give the reader a proper ending in Where She Went or did she forget to write the last few chapters again? :P

I've been meaning to read the two I've nominated for a while, but I really LOVED both the ones Claudia nominated, too. #bookishproblems

Sinner by Maggie stiefvater

Hey, Lauren - we haven't read the first three in the series yet, so Sinner wouldn't qualify. Would you rather nominate Shiver, though?

And do you have a contemporary/real life nomination? You have to post one of each when nominating. :)

Tara, first books are welcome. ^.^ Do you have a contemporary suggestion, too? We like for people to nominate both a paranormal/dystopian/otherworldly book as well as contemporary. :)

It's released, but we haven't had a Group Read of the first three books in the Shiver trilogy, so people wouldn't be able to follow Sinner very well... You can nominate Shiver, though, if you like. :)

Think about a contemporary/real life book to nominate, too.

Just books that take place in real life, such as books by Sarah Dessen, Morgan Matson, and Huntley Fitzpatrick. Hope that helps! :)

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi Brittany!

I don't read much contemporary myself, but the one a lot of my friends are talking about is The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

We've actually read all the John Green books. XD but if you can't think of one, that's fine. We'll find a way to make the polls even. :)
