Mount TBR 2017 discussion

My plan is to read books to clear my shelves.

I own rather a lot of books and have a large bookshelf downstairs and one upstairs but now that I have got piles of books not fitting into my bookcase, I need to take drastic action.

I still buy and find it difficult to restrain myself. I get books as presents, I go to the book warehouse sale twice a year and I get tempted at library sales. I used to buy more books randomly. It's always nice to browse in a book shop. There are so many good books to read :)

When clearing the shelves, I either give them to my daughter (she has her own bookcase), friends or a book depository for second-hand books.

If I love a book, it's a keeper.

I don't own an ereader as I'm still a traditionalist at heart.

In 2016 I donated 38 books. This was around half of the books I read. In 2017 I would like to donate more.

I have completed Pike's Peak, Mount Blanc and Mt. Vancouver and am now attempting Mt. Arafat.

This was the first book I'd read by Isabel Allende. It is the story of Eva Luna and all the colourful characters that she comes across in her difficult life.

This story is set in the Second World War and tells of La (Lavender) and the orchestra she starts in a small community.
