Okay, so I just hit page 150 and I’m really enjoying the book especially now the characters are meeting each other and starting to piece things together. It’s really interesting how each name represents something in the book - I wonder what that means.

I feel like Olive and Rowan may potentially have forgotten they know each other? Like, he’s convinced they do and she doesn’t know him at all so does that mean they did and they’ve lost the memory of it?

I’m really enjoying the diversity in the book, I’m loving that all the girls have different body types and different appearances.

I thought Rose’s text messages were very realistic - that this guy has started being abusive when she didn’t want to see him again, and I like that she’s met Hazel - I want to see more of them together.

Anyway - I’m half asleep so my thoughts are all over the place but I can’t wait to discuss with you all!

AquaLivre | 3 comments I’m also really enjoying the book and how little things are being teased out. I like that we hear what Rose lost through her conversation with Hazel rather than Olive. I also like the undercurrent of magic running through the book - reminds me a bit of Sarah Addison Allen.

The diversity is great and I think the book does a good job of normalising different body types. It feels natural and not forced.

I have my theories on who Laurel, Holly and Ash are. And I love Olive’s dad - he’s such a character (“Lock the back door!” 😄)

One of my favourite bits from this section of the book is the conversation between Olive and Emily when Olive starts seeing her sister as a real person, someone she might actually have things in common with rather than an annoyance.

He really is, so often parents in YA are very 'normal', I love that he's got some real personality to him, he cracks me up.

Yeah me too, she's seeing her for who she is and realising that she is developing her own opinions on the world, and I really like that.

I did too, but now i'm not so sure, it's such a mystery!

Victoria | 5 comments I’m starting to enjoy this book even more now that the characters are interacting with each other! For a while there I was getting confused with the amount of characters there are and the different POVs but it’s getting easier to follow 🙂

I’m interested to see what the importance of the characters sharing the same name as the spell ingredients is!

I also really like the mystery behind Laurel, Ash, and Holly. It’s going to be interesting to find out how Jude fits in seeing as he appears so soon after the three of them cast the spell!

Yeah, that took me a while too, there were so many people to remember!

Elizabeth (pocketeditionliz) I feel like I'm straining my brain trying to figure out how all these characters connect because they have to! I mean come on! Haha

I don't like Jude. And Rowan just seems like a "I'm just here" character though maybe that will change as the book goes continues. The female characters are really interesting to read and are such teenagers. Which is fine, I'm just making that comment to praise the author because she's doing such a good job creating such believable characters.
