Hi that time of year when we think up next years reading lists. Again May will be for Annabel but if you want a book choice drop your name down and I’ll make up the list. We do it simply in order of who commented first with me last.

Tracy Quarrell | 261 comments Hey everyone 😃 I would like to read Midnight at the Bright Ideas Store by Matthew Sullivan. It is getting four and five star reviews. I wouldn't mind reading a Stephen King book too, that guy is prolific. Also I am planning to read the estate series by Mel Sherrett. It's cheap on Amazon now. There's a few to get the ball rolling 😃

Tracy Quarrell | 261 comments The last Nicci French in the Freida Klein series is due out soon too. Sad it's coming to an end 😥

Dianne (deemitchell) | 349 comments Im doing fine, just come back from a holiday, so ready for new books to read. These suggestions sound interesting. Reading snow by orhan pamuk presently, very good. Will be watching out for the last in the nicci french series, have really enjoyed them. Hope it is on netgalley, i am totally addicted to that site now, thanks to the advice on this group.

Dianne (deemitchell) | 349 comments Went on a cruise around the bay of biscay, went to 2 places in france and 2 in spain. Weather was lovely and warm. Got to go to guernica and santiago de compostella which were both bucket list.

message 12: by Jon (new)

Jon I think Tracy mentioned a Stephen King book. Could I put 11.22.63 by Stephen King as my choice? I have heard good things about it.

message 13: by Tracy (new)

Tracy Quarrell | 261 comments Hol sounds idyllic Dee. That book is a gem Reddraggon. Nice series made of it too. A few changes made to the TV series.

Kathryn Parry (kathrynmorgan-parry) | 707 comments Mod
Any suggestions for Annabel’s choice this time? There are a few classics that I’m interested in reading but also easy with the choice.

message 17: by Tracy (new)

Tracy Quarrell | 261 comments Annabel mentioned Tess of the D'Urbervilles a couple of times...could be a possibility. Love Hardy.

message 18: by Dianne (new)

Dianne (deemitchell) | 349 comments Love hardy too

message 19: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn Parry (kathrynmorgan-parry) | 707 comments Mod
I’m happy with that. I’ll add it up later. Who wants the Christmas choice?

message 20: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn Parry (kathrynmorgan-parry) | 707 comments Mod
Shall we see what’s on Annabel’s list that we have all read? There are a few I have myself.

message 21: by Dianne (new)

Dianne (deemitchell) | 349 comments If we have a second choice this year, can i ask for the bookseller of kabul please?

message 22: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn Parry (kathrynmorgan-parry) | 707 comments Mod
Yes sure I’ll add it in now.

Dianne (deemitchell) | 349 comments Good choices!

message 25: by Dianne (new)

Dianne (deemitchell) | 349 comments I have been thinking of christmas ideas, and have come up with 'the night before christmas' by Gogol; 'the nutcracker' by eta hoffmann; or 'the gift of the magi' by o'henry. They are all short but are on kindle.

message 26: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn Parry (kathrynmorgan-parry) | 707 comments Mod
I’m happy with any of those.

message 27: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn Parry (kathrynmorgan-parry) | 707 comments Mod
I’ve read the gift of the magi one but I’ll pick up the other two.

Kathryn Parry (kathrynmorgan-parry) | 707 comments Mod
Don’t forget your second choice for the year for those that haven’t picked yet. Plus we have two bonus Christmas books this year that I’ll add once I get online. Can’t do the add with the phone app.

Kathryn Parry (kathrynmorgan-parry) | 707 comments Mod

Dianne (deemitchell) | 349 comments Can i make a suggestion for 2019 christmas read- the selfish giant- oscar wilde.

message 33: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn Parry (kathrynmorgan-parry) | 707 comments Mod
Yeah. Seems like just us two so far?

message 34: by Dianne (new)

Dianne (deemitchell) | 349 comments Yes, maybe others may come back in time.

message 35: by Sophie (new)

Sophie Hughes (safuya) | 67 comments I'm around, but I haven't read any of this year's picks, so I feel guilty making a pick for this year :)

message 36: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn Parry (kathrynmorgan-parry) | 707 comments Mod
Dont be daft Robert. It's been a difficult few years for you. Plus it will be just me and Dee otherwise.

message 37: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn Parry (kathrynmorgan-parry) | 707 comments Mod
Even if you don't feel like reading yourself you are more than welcome to pick a book. So do any other members if they are reading this.

message 38: by Sophie (new)

Sophie Hughes (safuya) | 67 comments In that case, I'd like to go for 1984. I can put in an alternate pick if you and Dee have read it recently enough not to want to re-read it (I was also looking at The Rook).

message 39: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn Parry (kathrynmorgan-parry) | 707 comments Mod
Not read it so I'm ok with that. Sadly my school didn't do any of the classics so I've missed out on so many. I will add the two now. We can always remove the second if we get a run of suggestions.

message 40: by Dianne (new)

Dianne (deemitchell) | 349 comments Sounds good to me, good to hear from you robert

message 41: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn Parry (kathrynmorgan-parry) | 707 comments Mod
Dee you can choose your second if you wanted.

message 42: by Dianne (new)

Dianne (deemitchell) | 349 comments Ok I will have a think

message 43: by Dianne (new)

Dianne (deemitchell) | 349 comments Can I choose cloud atlas. I have had it to be read for ages but have never got to it. No idea if it is any good.

message 44: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn Parry (kathrynmorgan-parry) | 707 comments Mod
