Now finished! 夢が叶う12月 Yume ga Kanau 12-gatsu Made me cry this one ... at different times ... aargh! 4 STARS
--------------------------------------------------------
Didn't finish an actual book or the full webcomic really, so putting this back on the list. Once all 52 chapters are done then I shall be satisfied with this task.
----------------------------------------------------------
Currently Reading: 01/16/2018 chapter 23/52 chapters
Royal Servant - MasterGin
Thoughts so far: It is one of those yaoi(Warning!) webtoons that are extremely popular now. The characters are quite handsome and it seems the leading mystery man, that we are assuming our main character falls in love with (all though we're not entirely sure, like with Killing Stalking) is just as troubled and mysterious as he is good-looking. :D 4-5 STARS
The author has self-described chapters 1-23 as part 1. Part 2 is most likely chapters 24-54(and more as this is ongoing...) and would be described as novel 2 if this were a manga strip not web comic.
Therefore...

Children's She Persisted
Read: 02/18/2018
Comment: She Persisted is a nice, creative drawing piece. I really like the illustrations. Chelsea Clinton makes sure that all of the messages spoke of effort and, of course, persistence. It starts with the typical stars of America then moves onto women who broke ground in the fields of gender and race. I learned about new people who made history and old stars from this time period.

comment: very nice poem. I believe he wrote it after a fiance died... boohoo! Actually probably not. But he always had the worst luck with love. I guess that is why Edgar Allen Poe is the premier Gothic poet. (Is he actually of the Gothic era or not? IDK) 4 STARS

ぐうたら恋愛の製法 Guutara Renai no Seihou /The Process of the Love Story by the Lazybones - Kuroiwa Chihaya
Finished: 01/09/18.
Comment: At first I was not in to the story at all. Perhaps because I decided to read it, rather than read then select a category. There are issues of whether he was cheating or not as he developed an ambiguous relationship with his future partner (in the middle of the story), something that I do not like. But it all ends as expected. Not as heart-racing but fine, all in all. 3 STARS

Contemplating ... Giving up because I haven't even watched the anime which was suppose to be my thing this summer. Hmm.
---------------------------------------------------
ANIME!! -> Africa no Salaryman - I will watch and review. It is rare to find Japanese anime or manga about Africa or Africans. When portrayed, they tend to be racial stereotypes from the 50's(big, sexual beasts, etc.) which is alarming. Hopefully more projects will be green-lit, that show a more updated reality in a medium that is at times ahead of the pack and yet stagnate in a reality that is just not true.

I haven't read romance in such a long time. I would have given it a four if I hadn't had the craving for mystery in the middle. Creative positions considering they didn't technically do the deed until 3/4 through the book. I liked it. But romance always has such great detail. ;)

ワンパンマン 1 Wanpanman 1 by ONE 4 STARS
--------------------------------------------------
IDK how I'm not done with this one. Must be taking my time. Had fun reading another #1 to a super-long series: Dragon Ball, Vol. 1: The Monkey King - the original is actually so good. But the t.v show is like totally saturated and forever-going.

I recommend "The Mountain Between Us". It's a really good movie, with Idris Elba in it although the ending doesn't seem like it is the most realistic.

Comment: I think it is the second or third story in this collection, but I gotta say, there is a real scumbag of a character. The thing is, is that I basically excuse and try to find some good in everything. I don't know why but even though he is just a typical type of character I often see in the Yaoi world ... he just Argh! I think I just have an irrational dislike for that character because even the characters I hate, have a reason for being hated. 3 STARS

A delicate love with beautiful drawings. As it is a webcomic it is still continuing, however I have completed Season 1 which would be my equivalent of book 1. Polarizing: Poll 1 - A book about mental illness.
Read: 01/06/2018
Comment: While these were a bunch of short stories and were quite cute... the main story AND the one they highlight in the book summary(on GoodReads) is the relationship between two college students, one with a case of OCD. Actually his experience I felt was quite genuine, even though this was obviously a subplot to the love story (Yaoi alert! MxM) of the two. It is similar to my own experience especially when I was a child, actually I wish I could be as smooth as the man in the story. Perhaps my thoughts and motives could be seen as a little less obvious as I have similar problems with people surrounding me. 4.5 STARS
Recommendation: A yaoi that does have a strong plot line including mental illness is テンカウント 1 Ten Count 1 . Be warned this one is way more graphic.

Comment: A really sweet book. It is on the list for "A 1000 Books Before Kindergarten". I read its sequel My Friend Bear, I find it unique that this is a children's book and is a sequel yet it makes no apparent effort to show that the two titles are related at all. It seems like it could be a stand-alone book but that is not the case. Very interesting. Excuse my ramblings.

Comment: I am a bit disturbed by this book. Like in other books there are small tensions/problems before the two characters are together "forever", however this author does wrap them up at all. These may be small problems now, but if the characters don't address them then the child of this story will be mentally scarred for life. Actually the child does end up this way in his book: ラブキッズ!! Love Kids!! and I still don't think these problems are addressed fully! They're just glossed over. (- o -) flip the table! 2 . 5 STARS

This is a book that can scare you. Case in point, it's about yazuka (Japanese mafia/gangs). This isn't as weird as manhwa, which basically makes every single high school in Korea a hideout for gangs, it is still scary, no? Koi to Uso to Pride to by Kisaragi Seika
Read: 01/20/2018
Comment: The drawings are a bit rough so every single action is brusque in fashion. However I did find that the one slap that was in the book, set up like a typical day drama, extremely strong. I found that satisfying since artists typically draw this type of action softer than it actually is.
The relationship between our hero and his lover is very sweet, I found. And I would like to read the prequel Sweetheart. 3 STARS
Other than the title which has one of the cardinal sins in its name, there are elements of pride and envy that come out especially when our hero is confronted by the antagonist fellow in this story.
