Netherland discussion

Hans van den Brock finds himself in New York after issues with his wife, who decided to move back to London with their son. During this time, Hans is lost in a place that he has to call home, that is until he is introduced to an unexpected character named Chuck Ramkissoon. Chuck shows Hans a glimpse of the diversity in New York by reconnecting Hans with one of his favorite pastimes from home, cricket. Hans is intrigued by cricket even if it is vastly different than how it was played back home. Throughout the story, Joseph O'Neill switches back and forth between the past and the present in order to fully grasp Hans character. New York becomes to feel more and more like home to Hans as the story unravels.
